Hearns would put him in I.C.U very quickly to anyonelse a prime Roy would beat at this weight,but his style is not good to fight the Hit Man,he relys on his reflex's Hearns had great speed,reflexes,and reach and he was the superior boxer RRJ's lack of conventinial boxing skills would be a big part of his downfall in this fight,things that he usually gets away with he wont in this fightThe lefthook to the body from Hearns would have Roy trying to get out of this fight and then jab and huge righthand behind it lights out!
I say Roy now vs. Tommy now and Tommy will stretch him quick. I hate seeing the old guy keep fighting like this.
He feels guilty for ducking every credable fighter you can think of,hell he even ducked Hearns when he was old,amazing physical talent, medicore skills,and a real weak heart,i dont feel for him,and i dont really think he was a great fighter he never really beat anyone except Toney he didnt really dominate Hopkins in their 1st fight,he ran the last 4 rounds,he does a lot of talking with his mouth and not enough with his fists.
Hearns stylistically is a good foil for Jones, great speed, ATG jab to neutralise Jones speed and keep him off balance, excellent right hand and natural boxing skills. Jones speed and reactions ofcourse are on another level. His power from 160-168 was great. The result of the fight depends on how aggressive or tactically each man approach it. If Hearns comes out aggressively he'll likely get countered brutally. If Hearns looks to stick and move his jab could make it much closer but Jones would adjust to come on strong to score a late KO
