Jones still has his smarts and his defense has improved from a fundamental and technical standpoint.

He has the power and speed to trouble both those guys.

He handled Tito's pressure well, and I think Tito is a better defensive fighter than Pavlik.

The difference is that Pavlik will throw when Jones throws, which is the only way I really see Jones getting knocked out at this point. I also think that Pavlik's power is better than Tito's atleast, at middleweight.

    Still though, Jones is dangerous.

I need to see the outcome of the Taylor-Pavlik fight to see if Pavlik fixed any of his defeciencies. I think Pavlik is going to win, but he needs work on his defense.

    You crazy?

Pavlik would demolish Jones at Middleweight.

To say Pavlik's power is better than Tito's at this point is a huge understatement. Pavlik's power now is better than Tito's in his prime, he's just so much bigger.

    Mark my words...

There is no way that Jones beats Pavlik...

    guys... TRINIDAD is not PAVLIK.

Jones would NOT be able to absorb pavliks shots... period.

Pavlik does not let you engage in a boxing match... he makes you FIGHT... and Roy will lose that fight each and every time.

I give him a much better shot at taylor, because taylor really isnt that great at pressure, and i think roy would have a much better chance at winning a boxing match in that one... I could see his speed giving taylor problems, but i would still favor Taylor to win.

    Tito has respectable power.

Have you ever seen anybody else put a beating on Joppy like Trinidad did?

Also, Pavlik doesn't have a spectacular chin and he gets sloppy.

Roy is smart and I don't see him taking any risks, so, if he can manage to use his legs to stay away from Pavlik, he may see an opening in Pavlik's defense and hit him with right hand, especially over Pavlik's jab that begins a combination that ends up with Pavlik on the mat.

I don't think you can DEFENITIVELY say that Pavlik will knock Jones out, and the fight won't be at middleweight either.

It will be at a catchweight, and who's to say that Pavlik will take the fight or that his power will move up with him?

But his chin and his defense make him vulnerable.

Don't get me wrong, I would lean towards Pavlik especially at this point in Roy's career and would actually be really disapointed if Pavlik didn't pull out a win, but STILL.....

Roy is calling out everyone he can - from Oscar to Calzaghe. This is what happens when you fall from Grace and want to get back to the status you were once at.

He looked good in his outting against Tito - would love to see how he does against someone who's been active.

If Roy really wants a fight - Tarver is still available. I don't think there would be a problem making that fight - if he really wants to fight.

He needs to stop calling out all the guys under his weight class and start calling out some of the ones in his.

I would love to see this fight. Jones would be even harder to understand after KP gets through with him, which may jeopardize his announcing career.

I hope this fight gets made.

I suspect i will get good odds on Pavlik by stoppage.

Don't worry Roy won't have to fight KP, because Taylor is gonna finish what he started with Pav.

Nice avatar and I have a feeling JT is gonna pull this one out, quick. It won't go 6 rounds.

Jones can barely make 168lbs, let alone box at MW. How times have changed for Roy; one time he was the man & people wanted to box him, now it's Jones calling all the names out. Since his win over Trinidad, Roy has called out De La Hoya, Calzaghe & now Pavlik.

Pavlik would shatter Roy's fragile chin. It's all very well calling out other boxers, but will Roy actually go through with it once someone like a Calzaghe or Pavlik calls his bluff? Jones has priced himself out of fights in the past, so I wouldn't be surprised if he were to do it again.

Jones put in a solid showing against Trinidad, but Trinidad is not Calzaghe or Pavlik. Felix was inactive for nearly three years, so it was a no-brainer that Jones would win. If he didn't, Jones would have had to retire.
