Considering he's been in 3 more fighst since then I say he's on the road to recoevery ..Becuase not to many boxers that I could think of would have continued with their careers after nearly getting killed in the ring twice !

And the punch that Tarver hit him with would of Ko'ed allot of boxers the one that finally Ko ed him against Johsnon was behind the head ..I don't consider him fully back until he gets in their with somone thats relevant buts it good to see him get his confidence back little by little ..

**** do people want him to be the next Vargas yo see what happened to him ..

Your kidding right, Johnson's shot landed right on Jones's jaw. Why don't you just go and watch those shots again.

Let me be truthful, Pavlik has horrible defense and he's very slow. Pro-Pavlik people use the arguement that Pavlik will catch Roy on the jaw or chin and that's it for the night. But the slow Pavlik has to catch the fast Jones, even at this point in his career he is still fast enough to beat most guys. Back to Pavlik's defense, Kelly will be very aggressive in attacking Jones which will leave more holes for Roy to score from. Roy fights smart fights now instead of going in for the kill now that his reflexes have diminshed. He'll pick those holes off all night for the end result to be.....

Really please tell me who he fought at Lt Heavy ? The highest he has ever fought is 170 against a Eric Olds who's record was 4-2 yeah he was able to knock him out ..But that ain't Jones ..But if you notice when Roy goes to the ropes he covers up ..Tarver in his last fight with Jones couldn't KO him again after hurting him but yet Pavlik who's never fought a legit Lt Heavy will Ko him ???:patsch

Are you saying he's not a great or something, Pavlik wouldn't be able to hit Roy flush anyway. Roy would fight a smart fight which is what he is and should be doing in this stage of his career. He would also find and hot Pavlik's holes in his defense.

I'm very happy that Roy achieved the accomplishment of coming back from brutal KO losses. I applaud him and know that he genuinely worked hard to climb his way back.

But all that and a couple million aint worth it vs Pavlik. It's a terrible match up for Roy, he'll end up back in that dark place and will not last 12 rounds vs KP. Pavlik has the best chance of hurting Roy.

His chances vs Taylor are slightly better, because Taylor isnt agressive enough to finish. Roy taste's JT's power again and he'll back up or adjust.

Calzaghe? Please forget it. JC will beat Roy easily. Calzaghe's not slow himself and is in physically better/ younger condition. I see Roy hanging tough early and fading late under Calzaghe's pressure/lead. Though I wouldnt blame Roy or Hop's for fighting Calzaghe.

Hopkins? Now the rematch would be interesting something that we wanted a long time ago but never got. Two guy's both past prime but rising from losses, answering the questions from the first time. Believe these men are both very different from where they were when tjey first met. Both accomplished tremendous things and the fans are tired of hearing money this, money that. They should both get paid and settle a part of their legacy.

All I see from Roy is that he's on the comeback road ..These fights are for confidence to finish off his career on a high note ..But with that said are you saying Pavlik is great then ??

And to answer your question YES he is great ,greatness is never lost once you have accomplished so much ..Did Ali lose his greatness when he lost to Holmes ?? Did Suger Ray Leonard become less great when Hector Comacho knocked him out ?? DO YOU HEAR ME ??

I too give Hopkins a better chance in a rematch but ultimatly I think Jones speed would be the equalizer ..I'm expecting Calzaghe's speed to fluster him same as Jones did ..Only time will tell ..I don't think Pavlik would beat him though even at this stage .

He's still great ..As all the fighters I mentioned previously ..But if we are talking relivance now than of course I will put fighters ahead of him ..But I do feel that there are fighters that won't beat Jones Pavlik being one of them ..

Roy is would just have a field day with Pavlik's defense and that's all that's to it. Does Pavlik have a good chance to beat him? Most definetly! But Pavlik has never dealt with a speedy fighter like Jones. Experience plays a role too, Pavlik has fought two quality fighters and that's it, Miranda and Taylor.
