Roy Jones was a great athlete in his prime, but SRR would have torn him to shreds

Yes, and in his interview with Aladdin Freeman he didn't mention that he also tested positive and he was probably ten times over what would be a normal amount and Roy Jones was six times over a normal amount. Richard received a letter dated August 2nd, from the IBF indicating to him that he failed the test. He forgot to mention that in the interview.

The letter notifying Jones that he has tested positive for a banned substance, focus on the second paragraph asking for speciman B

That's correct and there was also another one that Ms. Knight herself asked me to send... She asked me to send them, (the letters), I sent them. Then she herself sent one to ... it was directed to Roy Jones telling him that she hadn't heard from him about the results from Specimen B and that she was directing him to contact this office no later than the close of business on Friday, August 25, 2000.

The fight was in May? Why such of long lapse of time?

I can't tell you... Once I did what she asked me to do, it went from there... I don't know what happened after that...

Do you notice the letter was dated August 2nd? August 25 is hardly 4 months.

Prime vs Prime they were in different weight classes. That being said, SRR is considered the best for a damn good reason. And Jones isn't even in the top 10.

I have read most of this stuff a while back, just kind of hazy on it.....

Nothing disproves that ripped fuel was a possibility, and nothing said Roy Jones' attorney negotiated more time on the tests.

    I finally found it

That fight was never going to happen especially with Roy demanding such a ridiculous amount of money. Besides the WBA told Jones that he had to defend his belt against Vitali K, which is when he decided to move back down again

It is funny how Roy contradicted himself in that paragraph. He starts off by saying how easy it was then finishes with saying how difficult it was.

Roy Jones is just going along with the hype of how much weight he had to lose.

Clearly he didn't gain 25lbs of muscle in 6 weeks. Because he was weighing 185 on fight night already as a LHW.

And he only weighed 199 against Ruiz. Only gaining 14lbs.

Jones also in that article talks about Tarver and the fights.

Clearly he was using it as an excuse.

6 weeks is bull****. You and I both know that.

Let's not also forget that when you add muscle you add fat. So let's just realize that Roy was exaggerating quite a bit eh?

Can we all agree that SRR was prime at 147????? That he was a great MW, but he was not prime at that weight?? The guy loss to Carmen Basilio... NO OFFENSE to Carmen, who was a great fighter in his own right, but the guy was very small at MW and very short. Would this had happened at both their prime weights? I highly doubt it. SRR had the tendency to come into fights at MW not as prepared as he should've.
