But RJJ was a naturally bigger man and would have had what it took to prevail against Robinson

    P4P or H2H?

P4P I'd put 147 lbs. SRR ahead of any version of RJJ.

H2H, the higher the weight the better RJJ's chances. SRR would have a chance at 160, each weight class higher that chance gets smaller and smaller.

After looking at footage of both fighters, I just feel that Roy was a much more dynamic fighter than Ray. As far as Athleticism, Speed, Power is concerned. And I mean this with all due respect to SSR and his accomplishments, But it's arguable that Roy @168 was probably the best fighter in history.

Incredible! On one thread you say you just now watched the entire BenitezDURAN fight and now you claim this. From a neophyte to an expert in 60seconds. ORRRRR, just an instigator starting ****.

If we had good HD color footage of SRR's prime i think you would see things a whole lot differently so to speak with no pun intended.

Jones is crazy impressive for sure tho.

Jones is impressive on film and I do actually believe that you can make a case for him being a top 3 H2H fighter from MW to LHW - at his best, his unorthodox speed was that good. However, and a big however, for me - the likes of Ezzard Charles, Ray Robinson, Greb, Armstrong, Langford, Barbados Joe were battle-tested and achieved their feats in eras of one world champion and 8 weight divisions. I probably put more stock in their ring-records than I do in the footage of colour era fighters that feasted on inferior opposition and never went toe to toe, life and death with ATGs and elite fighters.

H2H can only be a 154/155 lb extremely experienced Ray Robinson versus a young, athletic MW specimen in Roy who didn't necessarily have the experience to handle a SRR at his best. Any weight above that, 168 lbs and upwards, then I favour Roy and by quite a bit actually - same day weigh-in though just to keep the weight advantages somewhat respectable.

Although, not as dynamic, for me, SRR was more fluid and had a killer instinct in the ring. Roy could only hope to be as active and as dominant against class of opposition as SRR was. I'm also reflective of Roy's issues with ripped fuel ... it does make me put asterisks against his achievements when I compare him to the very elite ATGs.

Jones took clean punches from B-Hop and Toney with no issue.

I'm far from calling him iron-chinned but I don't think Jones' chin was an issue for him until he lost all the weight after the Ruiz fight. The weight loss, combined with his age and maybe just a bad combination of father time plus his body not adjusting quick enough, made his durability decline rapidly.

Roy was the bigger man but at 160 against the Robinson that beat LaMotta I'm far from sure .. keep in mind Ray had the much better chin, much. In twenty five years, never ko'ed .. ( save the Maxim stuff ) .. P4P, no.

    y'all musta forgot....

Roy's speed and athleticism ranks very high against 160-168 pounders. Does SRR incredible boxing skills overcome Roy's natural weight and speed advantage? Possibly, but it would be interesting.

In all around all time rankings, irrespective of weight class, SRR comes out ahead due to his list of victims, and he never got beaten up and KO'd like Roy did as he (SRR) aged and went up in weight from WW to MW.

Jones was vastly more consistent for one, he never lost in his prime whereas Robinson had a number of prime losses.
