We have been over this a hundred times.. Whats one more? I honestly wish Roy had just made the fight with DM, because Roy would have won, and we wouldn't be having this conversation, I don't really blame Roy for not wanting to go to Germany though, I understand why he may be really concerned of getting a fair decision, neither of us have been robbed of an Olympic gold medal, maybe you would feel different as well about overseas judging..... He was the P4P king though, and may not have been technically "lineal" champ, but he was certainly the man to beat, and was certainly the man at some of his weights. He may not have beat a lineal champ, but he beat someone considered to be P4P best by many, which sometimes is a more valuble victory... Hopkins and Toney were 2 of the top fighters at those weights, and two of the greater fighters of the generation... so I can't give you that he always went for easy fights. Also, an argument can be made that a new lineage was made at LHW after Gonzalez beat DM... At the time of that, do you consider Gonzalez the man at LHW instead of Roy, even though Roy wiped the floor with him? I pretty much considered Antonio Tarver the man at LHW when Roy dropped down and edged a win in their first fight... I never really researched why the Organizatons gave Jones DM's belts, so I can't really comment on it, other than I would like to hear an explanation from them instead of angry posters, which is all I have heard... We both know I don't beleive Roy's jaw was always glass, We arent gonna agree... I know it was never Iron, but I think it was good enough to climb 4 weights.. he did ocasionally take a shot. But we do know it is certainly glass now.:yep I think it has gotten progressively worse after losing to Tarver. I don't really take anything serious he is doing or has done for years... fighting overseas now isn't the same thing as fighting when he was the best and had everything to lose.
To be fair, its hard to disagree with much of this I'd say Jones became the man at LHW before Gonzalez even beat Darius, but DM would have been huge for Roy's legacy. Personally, I think Roy was always chinny, that much was clear against Lou De Valle who was hardly a puncher. Tarver was a huge win for Roys legacy, his third best win in my opinion right after Hopkins, and certainly the best win of his time at LHW. I'd have loved to see Roy fight N.Benn, Darius and G-Man, those would have been defining fights for Roy. I would favour Roy to beat Darius, but it would have been a tough fight
Yeah, the dip**** circle jerk team spam a thread to death with the same bull**** then run off to suck each other cocks in enjoyment. There is like 7 people that agree with them, and I think 4 of those are alts...... Keith
An interview with Kohl who protected ALL Of his fighters to the hilt. **** they ducked William Guthrie, because he hit too hard. Nice source there....... Keith
Drug testing didnt start in boxing until around 1981 (the first Arguello-Pryor fight), which as we all know they messed up. The first tests were for stimulants and narcotics. Testing for actual peds did not start until 2002 http://www.secondsout.com/columns/thomas-hauser/mayweather-pacquiao-peds-and-boxing http://www.maxboxing.com/news/max-b...and-vada-hope-to-educate-and-clean-up-boxing-
That's the explanation given from a writer over at the scene. Liles version of events is very different. He blames Jones for the fight not happening. Nunn approached him for a fight at smw, at the end of 95. He was also Jones's mandatory for his wbc lhw belt on two occasions.
I would have loved to see those fights as well... Maybe if Roy wasn't just handed the belts, the DM fight would have been made??? hard to say. But I remember reading a quote from Roy, saying he was P4P best,he had all the belts but one, why should he go over there??? I am not sure if I totally agree with that, but that's the way he felt, and after getting robbed of his medal, I guess I give him the benefit of the doubt... I also remember after the G-Man incident, neither Roy or Benn wanted to fight each other, which is a shame for Roy because Benn was never the same, and Roy most likely would have won. I think having one or two of those names combined with Toney, Hopkins, Tarver and Ruiz would have put Jones up into that higher category of greats, and eliminated much of the doubt some people have...:yep
Funny that the promoter is calling anyone a coward ,but I remember William Guthrie ,I beleive he was DM's mando as well ,I also recall them saying that Guthrie was a KING fighter and we want nothing to do with him ,this is the same guy that is calling people cowards Guthrie is also the same guy that got a crack at DM's IBF you know the belt that was supposidly handed to Jones
:barf:barf:barf What disgusts me most is how many people have an excuse for cheating when it suits their agenda :barf. Clinton Woods, according to Boxing News, says Woods claims that testing barely existed in America when he was active. Woods was quoted in Boxing News as saying " This content is protected " Which I agree with completely. Woods continued with " This content is protected " Now Woods was never a top fighter but could fight on even terms with journeymen like G Johnson, but obviously didnt like cheating and if he knew to question what he takes, its shocking that a superstar professional would just take an over the counter product. With what ive read on here, I guess some people dont mind cheating as much as others :dead
My source >>>>>>>>>>> you....sure they did. Let me guess.....you're your own source on that one too.
Theres quite a few on here that are their own source. General Zod and Loudon are great for that. Not to forget SImperial who gets owned, cant dispute a thing and still carrys on until it looks like a bullying beat down put upon him. Starts to get humiliating for them
Your funny the person who is turns into the cut copy and paste queen every time your ass gets handed to you ..The humiliation you and the rest of your village people get around here is legendary ..But I know you think you school people . Delusional little fan boys
