    Really?

    Change the record.

You wouldn't fancy him against a faded version of Ray (who had no business being at SMW) while he was in his peak?

    Get real.

I think it's a somewhat valid compassion saying Mayweather isn't an ATG because you can think of ATG WW's who could beat him is like saying, Leonard isn't an ATG because he'd lose to an ATG MW or SMW.

Not to sound like a "*****" but Mayweather could arguably rated higher than Leonard ATG wise. As great as SRL is his record is like 4/5 names deep Mayweather like 15/20

    division by division
    1st. SRL 147 - Hearns, Duran II, Benitez, Price, Mayweather sr, Finch,Bonds, Green,Gonzalaz/L-Duran I
    PBF 130-G.Hernandez,Corales, Chavez, Manfredy,C.Hernandez.

    2nd. SRL 154 - Kalule/L-Norris
    PBF 135 - Castillo 2x

    3. SRL 160 - Hagler, Duran III/D-Hearns II/L-Chamacho
    PBF 140 - Gatti

    4.SRL 168/75 - Lalonde
    PBF 147 - Baldomir, Judah,Hatton,Mosley, Marquez, Pacquiao,

    5th PBF 154 - Hoya,Cotto,Alvarez.

Writing FACT! after writing something that's obviously an opinion should be a ban worthy offence.

I've given you the reasons why people do fantasy fights between Ray and Floyd at WW:

    Both are ATG fighters.

Both have had a number of fights at WW.

Floyd is still active at WW.

He's the consensus pound for pound number 1 fighter in the world.

He's undefeated and he claims he's TBE.

He's made comments about Ray in the past.

All of the above contribute to people putting them together in a fantasy fight.

I get the point you're trying to make, but you've gone about it in the wrong way.

Ray fighting Floyd in a fantasy fight at WW, isn't really the same as Ray fighting Roy in a fantasy fight at SMW.

As well as the reasons I've noted above, Floyd first fought at WW ten years ago when he was 28 and still at the peak of his powers. Whereas Ray was faded at SMW in the late 80's.

Even though you could argue that Floyd's absolute peak was at the lower weights, it's still fair to put him into fantasy fights at WW. But it's not fair to put Ray into fantasy fights at SMW. Because he hardly had any fights at the weight, and he was a shadow of the man he'd been at WW.

    Do you understand?

I don't think that most people are hating on Floyd when they make threads of fantasy fights at WW.

Quality over quantity in my opinion. Head to head maybe different, but Floyd doesn't have the resume to be rated higher than Ray.

I bet he wakes up his partner by mumbling 'Roy had no chin, none' in his sleep every night.

A young great fighter at maybe his best weight vs an older great past his best after retirements and eye injuries

    Great comparison

I am not talking prime for prime here, but Roy was in the ring with several all time greats... He was knocked out by none of them. (Tarver and Johnson are not ATG IMO)

Rico takes the approach that any great beats Roy by KO.. Heck I remember him on here saying Calzaghe was going to KO Roy, preaching... He goes silent when he is wrong but loves to make noise when Roy gets knocked out.

While 147 is above Floyd's absolute peak, I think you are using the wrong comparison. Leonardo being at 168 was pretty much a sideshow. Floyd, while being a small 147 pounder, has accomplished much at the weight, and being lineal champ for almost a decade certainly indicates that Floyd is an excellent welterweight.

Every fighter's body is different, which you (and all the people trying to bash Floyd's accomplishments, who I know you were aiming this thread at) need to remember.

Even though this is a Floyd thread I am glad Rico showed up to give ud his unheard opinion of Roy.
