Jack Johnson fought at age 60, and although he lost later in the fight, thats rather impressive for 60 years old. Especially in the 1930's.

I am an admirer of Jack Johnson. He was an extraordinary individual. I just don't have any video of him at 39 exhibiting the same hand speed Roy still has.

Don't misunderstand my post. I'm not saying Roy is the best fighter past the age of 35 in the history of the sport. I'm saying I don't recall anyone holding onto as much speed at that age. I said athleticism in my original post, but speed is the aspect of Jones' athleticism that stands out most.

What could Mike McCallum do inside Jones' 39 year old body?

Understandable. Roy for his age is in great shape and physically I'd say hes faster at 39 than a 39 year old Johnson was, but I'm just going by memory, I would have to check again to be certain.

Jones is faster now than Johnson was in his entire career.

No one is arguing against logic. It is not my fault that there have not been enough light heavyweights, near the top of the division, facing each other; and staking a claim to a shot at the top. I don't know that Tarver has anything left, but there have yet to be enough higher tiered match-ups to knock him out of the top 10. Same for Johnson. The only thing that Chad Dawson has done to be in the top few is defeat Adamek.

If more of the top fighters in the division were facing each other, you would have no argument for Jones being ranked in the top 10. With as little that has gone on in the division, you have little argument keeping him out.

Handspeed goes to Jones, reflexes is close but Jones might win that one too.
