As his athleticism diminished he got hit more often and was caught with the big punches he used to avoid.

He could have been great longer if he had worked on defense, for when his reflexes faded.

Formally educated in biology, chemistry and two engineering disciplines. No formal study of peds....self study and research which started on forums, progressed to scholarly articles and studies, lots of reading works of authorities in the field (yesalis, Llewellyn, Roberts, duchaine etc). yes I have used for over a decade. Funny enough, after my athletic career ended.

I am a firm believer that his chin went way downhill as he got older... He did take the occasional hard shot in his prime and handled it well...

All the defense in the world won't help you when you can't take a punch, because eventually you will be hit.

Probably true. But Jones had relied on his speed and elusiveness for so long he thought he could just continue to.

Part of what made Roy Jones great was his enormous self-belief. Once his speed deserted him, his self belief also became a big part of his demise.

    Wow, very interesting.

In your opinion how many of the top boxers have used at one point or another over the last few decades?

A healthy percentage. And not just top boxers....all from club, journeyman, contenders and elites. I've met amateurs that do or have for crying out loud. It is a part of the unspoken culture of combat sports...like it or not. Hell, it is in all major sports that pay athletes well......and is used by way more than most fans think, or allow themselves to believe. It is not always obvious because the eye test means jack ****. "I can tell he juices" is an ignorant comment 9 times out of 10. Especially when dealing with pro athletes. Gym rats are a different story. And the idea that it is an "American" problem that gets tossed around this forum a lot is a shining example of wilful ignorance and stupidity....it is global.

He's very knowledgeable but he's also a raving storyteller and a troll sometimes. He weaves fact and fiction together seamlessly and it often works on those who don't know the truth because him being knowledgeable makes it all the more convincing. lol

I have noticed his Eubank thread titles are often misleading as to the actual content..

I wouldn't be surprised if he wears a vile of Eubank's blood around his neck, or has a collection of unwashed Eubank jock straps from various fights and sparring sessions that he sniffs before bed.:rofl

    Me neither.

I really would love to know who he is. I did actually think he might be the great man himself for quite a while. lol
