Listen you gotta look at what made him great. What made Jones great was his reflexes and speed. With age you loose those attributes. Apart from great reflexes and speed Ali also had great fundamentals and great anticipation. That makes the visible difference between the careers of Jones and Ali. Jones in his prime should be remembered as one of the greats. I personally rate Jones on what he has done and not what he is now.
Roy Jones Jr is no legend because he gets knocked out too much. Why does he get knocked out so much? Because he has no chin. So, I guess he is not a legend because he has no chin. Jones is one of the most talented fighters of the last 20 years or so, but he isn't a legend. Maybe I'm just shell shocked, and will come to my sense eventually, but I don't know...like I said, past their primes or not, what legends get KO'd lin the 1st and 2nd rounds, and KO'd another time by someone who was a nobody at the time?
Mike Tyson's legendary status also dropped a few notches after getting KO'd by the likes of...who were their names again?
the commentator said "when you beat a legend you become a legend" buster douglas is a legend!!! :happy
Great fighter...time to hang it up. He still has good ability but he just can't take a punch. Green is no slouch though in terms of punching power.
once u have tasted the canvas hard like roy u never are the same fighter...cotto got bludgeoned and isnt the same, meldrik taylor got blugeoned and wasnt the same..
I feel really bad for Jones now. He was getting his chance to prove that he still had it, and to rematch Hopkins, and it showed that he's completely done as a fighter. Shows how really **** Jeff Lacy was.
We're still talking about Buster today, aren't we? A legend? No. But any sports upset countdown will have Buster in the top 5.
Na i disagree with you on Tyson. Tyson never had a glass jaw not even when he was old he just lost the fire and wasnt in great shape. He never got ktfod the way Jones has.
