Apart for the die hard fans, Im seeing the same attitude just about on every forum and every article - no one cares about this matchup. I really hope to see a headline in the news after fight - "Bhop Jones fight major financial flop".
A 168'r and and a virtual unknown ? No him and Roy will take a chance on fighting each other and like i said catching the bucks off the casual , nostalgic and deluded . anyway why would he take a chance on fighting Bute and Dawson they are both in their prime Hopkins recent history dosen't include like for like fighters in their prime , Joe was getting on and Pavlik a middle dragged up to 170lbs .Hopkins is playing the game very well i will give him that .
glass half empty guy Every fighter is a shot cherrypicking hype job who deserves no success or plaudits despite risking their LIFE as a way to make a living they continue to mug the paying public and armchair fans of the sport who no doubt should be in charge of matchmaking, coaching and promotion of all fighters and their fights. Perish the thought that they actually fight for anything but money .
**** everyone, I'm looking forward to this :thumbsup When a fighter wants to fight on when they are too old to compete with the best, then why not just fight other old fighters?? Think of the fights that could happen; Lewis-Bowe, Tyson-Holyfield 3, Foreman-Holmes. This could be a great decade!
I know all too well the risk everytime a fighter enters the ring and i don't need the likes of you ( fan boys) telling me these things so get off your soap box , Mundine is cherry picking so is Hopkins and if you don't realise that then i really don't know what to say to you , Now please do me a favour and **** off and ignore my posts as you suggested you were about to do the last time i didn't agree with you .:roll:
seriously your comments are just terrible to read and I feel compelled to respond, I actually am not an avid fan of hopkins or jones jr but I can understand the matchup. Rather be on a soapbox than an armchair anyday. Awaiting your lame excuse with the usual cartoon british persona you seem to love.
You accuse me of terrible comments and post Calzaghe v Mundine fighting late 2010 resulting in a draw would be your dream fight .
Despite you taking it out of context, I think watching my two favourite fighters have a war with neither losing would be great to watch the odds of this happening is low thus its a "dream fight". Another great retort :happy
Holyfield is taking Botha next month... Im sure you're totally licking your lips at this unmissable encounter....
I'm not thrilled about Hoppy v Glass jaw but will still watch it nonetheless. I wonder how many others who also complain about this will actually not watch it??????
Not sure about the glass jaw bit. Dont know too many boxers, even granite chin ones, who are able to take a solid left hook from Tua and live to tell the tale. Paper skin on the other hand - thats been proven on many occasions...
