From Roy 8-4 to Roy by late round stoppage.

Joe has a good chin and seems to recover well, his defense is even better in his prime but I see him getting outworked, and eventually eating too many right hands, uppercuts.

Roy by 11th round stoppage in a good fight with a lot of speed but the ref comes in a stops a mess. Rounds 7-3 for Roy with a 10-8 coming into the 11th.

Then again Joe hit a lot harder and would have the speed to get to Roy who does not have a chin like Hopkins so Joe would have a chance to do some damage. Possible tko upset with the perfect shot landing but
    I don't see it happening

I made a thread about this not that long ago, I too choose Jones to stop Calzaghe.

    TKO8 for me.

BTW.. you actually think Joe hit harder than Jones? :huh

Oh yeah, to answer the question, Roy would destroy Joe by stoppage, especially if we're talking at 168 (both prime). If Roy could make one of the greatest technicians in Toney look silly (weight drained or not), imagine what he would do to Joe.

And definitely agree with BodySnatcher about Calzaghe earning more respect after a fight like that, even if he lost.

An example of this thinking is that Hatton gave a solid account of himself against Mayweather, especially since he was moving up in weight. No shame in losing to the #1 P4P, as Hatton took a few rounds early on against the best in the business close to his prime.

He was saying Joe back then hit a lot harder than he does now. Not that Joe hit a lot harder than Roy.

Or at least thats what I think.

    ....and hope.

Jones in his prime would make Joe look like Eric Lucas. Even now, if Roy stays off the ropes it is an easy fight.

Old faded Jones gets stopped late, or outworked, by Calzhaghe.

    Calzaghe-prime beats Roy Jones-prime.

jones would even KO calzaghe after his showboating moves in his prime:D

especially at 168, thats the best weight a prime jones was fighting

jones by 9-3/10-2 decision in their respective primes.

  15. Roy NEVER outworks Joe mate. You can say he's faster, hits harder whatever but you cannot say hios workrate is or was ever better than Joes opinion or not.
