I wish people would actually think about what would happen in this fight, rather than just make a prediction.

For a start, there's no chance in hell that RJJ outworks Joe, Roy never really outworks anyone - he would land more quality punches tho.

You've also got to think that Roy's style is a lot more suited to Joe than the other way around, Joe loves fighters than come forward and throw. Joe's a very awkward southpaw who comes forward, something that roy HAS had problems with in the past.

I see Roy Jones leaning on the ropes a LOT with Calzaghe firing a lot of punches that WILL win Calzaghe rounds.

Calzaghe has a proven chin he isnt getting ko'd, and a stoppage is unlikely. We need to stop basing Joe on the Hopkins fight. Too many posts on here on "joe has a china chin" "joe is feather fisted" - Joe is neither.

Roy would also be facing the most intelligent fighter around, so he wouldnt be able to do all his usual fancy stuff like he did against say Clinton Woods etc etc he'd actually have to box more.

I predict an 8-4 or 9-3 win for Roy Jones tho but the rounds would be close. Prime Roy was just something else.

    HOWEVER

Its not out of the question for a Calzaghe win, people need to keep that in mind.

How can you base a fighters whole career on one less then stella peformance, against a fighter who just wanted to spoil and hug the whole fight ????????

Joe may of started the fight badly but he found a way to win and he always has before. Lets not forget it was joes first fight in the us, how many times has roy fought over sea

Hard match to call, but to say a concrete chinned joe in his prime gets ko'd easily is tottal bollox. :yep

Yes roy may win, great fighter one of my favs, but to say he ko's joe is bollox and he certinalty dosen't out work him that is laughable :patsch

A late TKO is possible, but these guys picking Calzaghe to get straight KOed here are not looking at things correctly. Amazing what a flash KD will do, it's not like when Andre Berto was dropped and ****ed over by Rivera, Calzaghe was not even hurt.

Two very good fighters, but in all honesty i wouldn't be suprised if Joe got K.O.; his defence and style look very bad sometimes. Seriously how many prime guys has Joe faced that can put power punches togeather with accuracy? Eubank was faded physically and mentally, Lacy could hit but had zero bozing skills or speed, Kessler has average power and is one dimensional...

I still think Roy can beat Calzaghe now. He destroys him in his prime.

Its a bad style matchup for Calzaghe.

His defense is leaky, now he normally got away with it because he was fast, but Jones is faster and will land. Calzaghe doesnt have much power to hurt Jones even if he does land on Jones. Meanwhile Jones had pretty good power.

Glen Johnson used a high work rate and arm punches to push Roy back and KO him.

What do you think Calzaghe is going to do?

Roy these days is shot to ****.

Why do you compare Calzaghe with Johnson? Johnson's complimented his high workrate with punching power which is what drove RJ back. When RJ realizes he can't be hurt by Calzaghe, he would weather the storm and sneak in his own punches (Like the Bryant Brannon fight to an extent). Eventually Joe would be worn out and Jones would win a decision.

That was 3 months after he got KO'ed by Tarver. Roy barely even fought back against Johnson. He's got his confidence back up after his last 3 fights and thats what he was lacking in his fights against Johnson and Tarver 3.

Calzaghe threw 200 punches in the first 4 rounds when Hopkins got to him early. You will be amazed on what great counters will do. Not outwork him I will take that back but the workrate will be similar.
