perhaps your right but we don't know that now. well green would've had to actually land some punches against that high guard to have jones layed out as you suggest and green hadn't really figured out how to do that in the 30 seconds he had. looked more like jones got caught in the sweet spot and may have recovered in a minute or two. as long as he's defending himself let jones either get layed out or recover IMO. If RJJ has to be treated differently because of his age or other KO losses then he shouldn't have been allowed to fight in the first place.

I didn't see that one coming. I gave Green a punchers chance, but a first round TKO? It's true Jones isn't half of what he was in his prime, but what he showed against Lacy should of got him further against Green. And that was a legit punch and stoppage, no controversey.

No rabbit punch, and a good stoppage. Personally, I would have LIKED to see the ref let it go on, as I think Jones MIGHT have recovered and gone on to make it a competitive fight, but given his age, I have no complaints with the stoppage at all either.

I agree wholeheartedly with the sentiment that he needs to hang em up, but we all knew that already.

Oh well, at least he got a free trip to Australia out of the deal...

Beheind the ear not the back of the head no rabbit punch just a perfectly placed punch. His legs were gone all equilibrium lost. A rabbit punch does not do that a behind the ear punch does.

That was a strange looking punch, the way it landed. Green could not even believe it himself when Jones folded. WoW! Jones is the man, but he needs to retire.

Roy should have retired long ago. Even fighting guys from lower division could be dangerous for him. He lied to himslef fighting Trinidad, Lacy, Sheika and paid the price.

But I am disappointed because the referee did not let it go.

I think he was right to stop it, Roy didnt throw one punch and was on wobbly legs.

I'd like to see a sloe-moe replay, but from what I saw, I think you can make a case for this. It did look as if the punch landed on the back of the head. But you can't expect that a ref will catch this, and the fact is, wherever the punch hit, it shows that Jones doesn't take a very good shot anywhere.

It's unfortunate. I hope they still make the Hopkins fight because I was really looking forward to that.
