Nobody would like to see Roy win a rematch over Hopkins more than me. But I don't think it's going to happen.

As others have said, Roy's footwork isn't what it used to be. And footwork is the reason why Roy beat Hopkins so convincingly the first time around. If Roy lays against the ropes against Bernard he will take shots, something a prime Roy Jones hardly ever did.

If a rematch happens - and I hope it doesn't - then Hopkins will beat Jones as handily as Calzaghe did. Roy will never beat an elite fighter again imo.

He would get brutally KOed and lay on the canvas for 10h like against his feather-fisted daddy Glen Johnson.

Roy just fought Lacy and is now going to fight Green. Hopkins fought Pavlik and is probably going to fight either Dawson or Adamek. I think that's a pretty clear indication of both where they are and where they see themselves.

I mean, what would the odds have been on Hopkins/Lacy if they had fought? Hopkins would have been probably -800 or something like that. Does anyone have any doubt that Hopkins would have beaten Lacy just as easily?

This thread is laughable. Roy Jones is a washed up has been. Him beating up other washed up has beens doesn't change this. Hopkins would embarrass "Captain Hook". Roy Jones is a ****in joke these days. He can take that hook from his dumbass pirate costume and shove it up his ass.

Calzaghe couldnt dominate Hopkins but you think 40 RJJ can?

Roy has handspeed left but thats it. Hops didnt have a problem slipping Calzaghe's shots who has similar handspeed and throws more than Roy. 40 year old Roy doesnt have the movenment that Calzaghe did either.

Hops would KTFO of Roy. I hope the fight gets made!

come on fellaz, you guys did the same to bhop after he lost to taylor and calzaghe....everyone said he was garbage and shot, yet he fights a sick/limited world champ and now he's god.....all of bhops wins are kind of shady (except for the pavlik fight) and he hasn't looked great in a long time.....natural skill vs natural skill, roy has him beat and bhop knows it.....bhop wont dare mention roys name unless he's gonna say some stupid **** like 90-10 and lets make the fight happen.....

SO NOW ROY CAN'T EVEN GET MENTIONED IN THE SAME BREATH AS BHOP.........NUCCA PLEASE !!!!!

It would be a boring fight just like the first one was. BHop would win and Roy knows that. That is why we will NEVER see this fight.

    Spot on.

I'd fancy him in a rematch with Calzaghe too, hell that man has turned the clock back 10 years, he's a freak I tell you, a freak.

Id fancy Hopkins over Jones at this stage but I think Roy was the better fighter at their peaks & he DID win the primes fight after all.

I wouldnt rule Roy out of course, it might be a tight fight but my head says Hopkins on points.

Ps. Roy will & should rank higher than B-Hop p4p.
