it you put all Heavyweight champions in history (lineal, ring magazine, IBF, WBA, WBC, WBO, and NOT Lee Savold or Francois Botha, please-Botha is not considered a champion by the IBF anyways!) in a ring at the same time, and whoever got knocked out got eliminated, like in the WWE Royal Rumble but with knockouts instead of being thrown out of the ring,.... Who do you think would be finalists and who would win out of those two?
It'd be an easy call if they had to be thrown out of the ring.. Butterbean! I'll take Liston and Foreman
I like a dark horse like Jack Johnson here as he is the only man to actually do this lol. They used have events like this and I believe this is how he started his career. I like Ali though as he had the best chin all time imo.
Muhammad Ali could win this because it is nearly impossible to knock him out. The dark horse is Rocky Marciano ducking under everything.
Corbett is one of the two that are left. In that g-string of his, no one wants to go near Party Boy until is it is entirely necessary. That paves Corbett’s way to the final which he ultimately loses against whoever has to finally suck it up and engage him.
There is strategy to be thought of here. There would be those who may not have the strongest punch or toughest chin, but who did have the wits and wherewithal to grab the nearest competitor from behind and make them a human shield / drive them haplessly into another's oncoming fist. Or those who duck between the ropes and leave themselves hanging partway outside the ring to wait out the initial confused melee, and then start mopping up the already damaged field with sucker punches.
