Rose is the most beautiful fighter to watch in the Bnatamweight division, only rivalled by Johnny Famechon as the best Aussie to watch.

You can make a great case out for Olivares,my choice would be Jofre.

Eder Jofre would be my choice as the best bantamweight of all time. He had great punching power and boxing skill on a par with Ray Robinson. That's a hard combination for anyone to beat.

Chandler had had a chance to fight him prior to winning his title, but had turned it down. Each one turned that fight down at least once, if I remember right; and in the end, I think both their legacies have to suffer to some degree as a result. Personally though, I always felt Pintor was the better fighter and probably would've beaten him had they fought.

    My top five are:

    1) Olivares
    2) Zarate
    3) Jofre
    4) Herrera
    5) Harada

Talking of Lionel Rose, I think both he and Albert Davila were two of the most beautiful pure boxers I've seen. The problem with Rose was that he was a bit chinny. He was decked by Medel, Castillo and I think Sakurai. But after the Olivares fight it was gone completely. I think it was Raul Cruz he fought shortly after Olivares and he was ahead on points and was again stopped. I think a Chandler fight prime for prime may end the same way. Rose ahead but gets stopped around 10 rounds. Primarily due to Chandler's range. Conversely, I think Rose would have a real good chance of beating Pintor on points. Lupe didn't like the boxers too much.

Olivares was great, but Jofre was the better fighter and the more dominant champion.

I see it that way as well.

Jofre has a much more solid claim to the #1 bantam spot than Olivares IMO.
