Between 2 ATG Mexicans @ Featherweight how do you see this fight play out? Would Olivares be able to handle a patient pressure southpaw like Saldivar?

    Great pairing.
Well, my first take is that since Saldivar was a southpaw with great counterpunching skills, he is going to be a serious challenge.

However, I am kinda confident my man Olivares eventually wreacks Saldivar thanks to his amazing punching power.
Of course, there is always the chance Olivares gets careless and is knocked out first.

I need to think this a little bit more...

Olivares was a great bantamweight who also proved to be a pretty damn good featherweight, despite being a bit undersized at the weight.

Saldivar was a great featherweight though so while this would be highly competitive I think Saldivar would outlast Olivares and wear him down over the championship rounds to stop him.

^^^^ This. I saw the thread title and was mulling over the way to word my post. Then I read this post and realized everything I wanted to say was said perfectly by Jel.

Assuming this is a prime Saldivar, I pick him. Great FW vs great BW.

This. Olivares is force-of-nature good but not particularly difficult to plan for. Saldivar was cold. I'd pick him to win by late knockout. I don't think Olivares even looks better than Saldivar p4p. They both look amazing, and although Saldivar was not big at the weight, he's ATG at the weight.

Saldivar picks him apart and stops him late.
