I think you mean "HEATHER MILLS-MCCARTNEY"
Which is actually an anagram of "RUBIN HURRICANE CARTER".

:good

He lived a hard, yet interesting life. Became famous. Made it to a reasonably good age. And went in his sleep which is about the best anyone can ever hope for.

You people are so unfeeling and cold. Are you not aware of his social legitimacy via Bob Dylan's input? :bart

I read his book and researched a ton. I thought not guilty years ago but after looking at everything (Ron Lipton, his friend, thought him guilty) he did it! Twice guilty, no other suspects, etc, etc. Go online and look at everything. And yes, the movie was a Hollywood joke!

Conviction due to a film...

Alleged guilt or innocence is irrelevant, there is in legal terms 'reasonable doubt' thus he is innocent.

If thats the case then hes guilty seeing as how two jury's convicted him beyond a reasonable doubt and he was never exonerated. Being set free on a procedural technicality based on a judge who was unfamiliar with the facts is a far cry from being proven innocent or even giving reasonable doubt. In fact Ive never heard anyone give any reasonable doubt for why Carter was in area in a car that matched multiple eye witness descriptions, hiding from the police in the back seat, with live shotgun shells AND .32 shells matching the weapons used in the crime in the trunk, eye witness police sketches that match, failing a lie detector test, telling constantly changing versions of events, witness tampering, witness intimidation, etc etc. Golly gee I guess that was all just a big coincidence :-(

Its funny that most cases of a wrongly convicted person get a lot less convincing the more information is found. In the case of Carter and Artis the information that was and is dug up the more guilty they look.

The prosecution believed the murder of bartender Jim Oliver and two of his patrons, were revenge for an earlier slaying that evening of a black bartender by a white man. The murdered black bartender, Leroy Holloway, was the stepfather of one of Carter's friends. This friend, Ed Rawls, was seen together with Carter in the hours before the Lafayette Grill murders.
