You have hit the nail on the head. The truth is three families, as well as seeing the relative murdered have not even got 'closure' on who really killed their relative; that must be further pain to them.

Beyond reasonable doubt was proven twice and this should count for a crapload considering the setting aside of the verdict was a procedural issue

But the inability to perform said procedure is what allowed the writ of habeus corpus to be granted. Regardless of Carter's innocence or guilt, the fact that procedure wasn't followed properly is cause for concern.

The only racism Ive ever heard come out of this case came from Carter. Yeah it was awfully convenient that he was caught a few minutes from the scene of the crime in a car that exactly matched the eye witness description (a black female eye witness mind you) down to the license plate, hiding from the police in the back seat, while he and himself and the man he was with matched the eye witness description and having bullets that matched BOTH guns used in the murder... Thats awfully convenient for the police that all of those uncontested facts just happened and allowed them to unjustly pin this crime on the poor down trodden black man... That way they could make him a scapegoat for... what exactly? What was he a scapegoat for? These arguments are the ones I find most odd. Three white people are murdered and a fourth is seriously wounded and apologists want us to believe that the white police totally ignored going after the real suspects and instead fueled by a racist agenda they framed an innocent black man (who had just been making threats of violence against whitey that day) and just simply let the murderers of three white people walk free... Because they were racist... and apparently just wanted to get "a" black man, not THE black man. Puhlease. Oh and I love the "bad man" in quotations. As if Carter wasnt a piece of **** his whole life and was just misunderstood. :-(

You mean the people that eventually sent him packing because of his antisocial behavior and the wife he beat the **** out of? Those people?

I choose not to boo, and simply to pity. Some people can appreciate Mozart. Others can't, and are content to listen to One Direction. Seems like you're situated in the latter camp, based on recent comments.

But there's an even worse possibility.
They have each seen the psychopath who killed their relative walk free and become lauded and celebrated as the victim who overcame an injustice.

As mentioned by everyone Carter was not always the nicest fella, and thus for him to get people on his side there had to be a compelling argument of a miscarriage of Justice. So if he was guilty the weakness of the Police/Prosecutions' case needs to be put under the spotlight.

Not at all. It's called the Race Card and it works like this: Just cry "racism!" and you'll automatically get a huge amount of the populace on your side, before they even know the facts.

Ask the Reverend Brawley and the Reverend Hymietown (Sharpton and Jackson). They've made entire careers out of this phenomenon.

Look at the whole Mumia Abu-Jamal farce. Same thing. Someone suggested racism as the motive (while conveniently ignoring the smoking murder weapon that was at Jamal's feet) and everyone ran with it before bothering to learn the unassailable facts of the case, which many are still doing. Craziness.
