Alot of people may have this as a blow out for LaMotta but if the Carter that fought Benton & Fernandez shows up it gets interesting. Otherwise clean win for Jake.
Lamotta, without too much hassle. Carter sees the final bell, but there's too much savvy and aggression for Jake to lose this one.
Carter greatest asset was his power against a guy like LaMotta who had one of the greatest chins ever and could walk down nearly any middleweight its not gonna be a good night for him. LaMotta beats him up and takes a fairly wide decision.
Carter looks pretty average on film. I thought Giardello beat him wide, to be honest. And that was an old Giardello. Tiger beat him up, and Tiger was old too. I can't see Carter having any success with a prime LaMotta.
Carter is a big puncher with good technique, LaMotta is an arm puncher and swarmer with suspect balance. IMO, Carter would be too strong, he'd use his better balance, footwork, and technique to keep LaMotta away and then hit him with big punches. LaMotta wouldn't have anything to get Carter's respect. I'd bet on Carter.
