whats everyones thoughts? will be be able to withstand any of Lemieux's power punches? not to take anything away from Rubio who is a really good fighter evidence by his record. I just think this is going to be a 1st round smashing. Rubio already making comments on how hard Lemieiux hits.

If Lemieux has the speed and power he is touted to have, Rubio goes home early. Rubio couldn't cope with Kelly's speed and power. Kelly literally toyed with him slipping punches.

Forget Rubio vs Pavlik, rewatch Rubio vs Ornelas. Rubio's power is way overrated. However, his boxing ability is way underrated. I expect him to try an stay away from Lemieux and counter. It'll buy him rounds, but he's still going to lose by stoppage or lop sided decision.

Lemieux promised he would feel him out with decent punches early in the fight. It's very possible that David gets countered a couple times going wide, but in the (not so long) run he connects enough to slow Rubio down. Lemieux's defense is tighter than Rubio's so it's only a matter of time before David is fighting way up close to Rubio... then boom, the end, etc. He's fighting 'good' quality opposition for the first time and pretty much guaranteed a KO. :D

I watched Rubio/Ornelas back to back with Pavlik/Taylor a couple of times before Pavlik/Rubio. That is where I formed my opinion that Rubio was a full class slower when it comes to speed.

I think Rubio has a chance. The thing is Rubio to me doesn't feel like a very confident fighter, and he will be facing a very confident, undefeated power puncher. I think they could fight pretty much on par, but Lemiux will set himself apart from Rubio punishing him and eventually stopping him.

Pavlik played with Rubio and actually carried him for the benefit of his home town fans.If L. can't stop this dude,he isn't the fighter his "fanboys" think he is.

Of course he has a chance, he's Lemieux's best opponent to date, but I'd still favor Lemieux.

Yeah, I think Rubio has a chance to make it to round 3 or 4 :yep
Seriously, the guy is a very good boxer... Far above Camacho jr. and Punell Gates class so he certainly has a sot. But I guess he will get KO'd and early because he doesn't have the punch resistamce required to withstand Lemieux' punches.

Rubio has power in a tall lanky frame. Good step up fight and if Rubio lands it could help answer some questions about David's chin. I def see it bein tested cause David will come out looking to Jantuah him which I think he will. Just gonna take him a round or two more.
