As a GGG nut hugger, I find this fight to be the most risky so far. Rubio has one of two styles that can work well against Golovkin. Rubio can be a bit of a suicide bomber and possibly catch Golovkin cold. GGG has had everyone in retreat mode before the first bell and I just hope he is ready to survive a kamakazzi 1st round and be able to change his narrative and put defense 1st. It can be hard when your king of the hill to swallow your pride and play it safe when the whole world is tuning in to watch you dominate a supposed "bum".

Rubio has a chance here to cause an upset, it's a bit unlikely, but he has the tools to KO Golovkin and his opportunity might be granted by Golovkin's overconfidence and lack of fear.

A couple lucky shots can make a difference, and Rubio is the kind of guy that will chance taking those shots.

Veneno's always done great against his level of opponents, but falls short vs the elite. If taken lightly then yea he can surprise just about any 160lber and if they don't bring their A game he'll bring them back to earth, knockem from their pedestal. I'd be more interested in a Rubio vs Rosado, Vera, Angulo, type fight. Tough, experienced fighter, just falls short of elite level. If he had something that stood out like a wicked left hook, uppercut etc he'd have a huge Mexican following by now. Veneno just seems content 2 be where he's at, just doesn't show any hunger to use what he really has to be knocking heads off at 160. I'd rather he give it his all for 1 or 2 rounds then to try to tire Ggg into later rounds cuz inbetween Rubio might get a horrendous beating in the process. I just hope he doesn't try to do a Lemieux on Ggg cuz it won't work.

In your expert opinion SweetScienceGu, who can Golovkin beat at Middleweight- who is willing to face him- who is not a bum? :think

Rubio isn't just a puncher though, he is also masterfull at breaking down other punchers. For example, check out the lemieux fight.

I don't know who SweetScienceGu is....but he must have really hurt you.

Time for ggg to take some risks and challenge himself.:deal

There are no risks at 160..maybe thats why he likes it there so much.

So you can't name one 160lb challenger willing to face GGG who's not a bum in your opinion :patsch

Maybe that's because he's so good. That ever crossed your mind? :think

The only shame is that you dks, and have to rely on popularity contests and hype to even form a thought about this sport.

Nothing against the casual fan, just keep your mouth shut when talking **** about people that are so many leagues above yourself.

Totally agree, and have been saying it. Rubio is about right for where Golovkin is at in his career, and a live dangerous challenge.

I agree with everything except for stuff like this. Makes it look like you are reaching pretty big, there. Geale is head and shoulders above Rubio based on their accomplishments, and I do mean head and shoulders...

He wasn't just taking into account their accomplishments as it said in his post. You do realise fights aren't fought with resumes?
