However, because Mora is the WBC champ at 154, that would count as taking a mandatory for Pavlik too. That's why Mayweather was able to get away without fighting a mandatory, because he fought Hatton who was the 140 WBC champ, and that counted as a mandatory. Yeah, that leaves Rubio shafted, but that's the way it is.

Also, Rubio still isn't Pavlik's official mandatory. There is no WBC mandatory right now. He fought in an eliminator to get the #1 contender spot, but he hasn't fought in a title eliminator.

In any case, it's much more likely that Pavlik fights Mora than Rubio. Pavlik would kill them both anyway. Rubio and Zertuche are practically the same fighter.

    WTF:nut

    Rubio; 6'1"
    Zertuche; 5'8"
    Rubio; 76" reach
    Zertuche: 70" reach
    Rubio; 42-4-1, 37 KO's
    Zertuche; 19-5-2, 14 KO's

Rubio beat zertuche 1 round faster than Pavlik did. These two are hardly "the same fighter!"

Just read Steve Kim and it seems everyone is in the running to fight Pavlik, Rubio, Mora Duddy and even the winner of Sturm vs Griffin:nut Also Pavlik manager says that gonna let there be a little bit of a build up Pavlik vs Abraham so both men might have two more fights before facing each other:bbb As for Pavlik moving up to fight Kessler I think Kelly should wait till he really has grown into a true 168 pounder as he is making 160 easy and being middleweight champ better then being super middleweight champ:nono Pavlik is young and Kessler is young so both men can wait till there fight is a superfight a few years from now:thumbsup
