His fighting tough Alredo Cuevas on Telefuture:good But I get a gut level feeling Calzaghe is next for Pavlik and Rubio will end up fighting John Duddy next:bbb

Damn, I'd like to watch this because I haven't seen too much of Rubio either. Unless I'm missing it, my Comcast doesn't have Telefutura no more.

A future HOF'er and ATG like Cuevas is sure to prepare him

Rubio's management has scoured all corners of the earth for cans, the stockroom is nearly empty. How is this guy in contention? You really have to worry when you 'step up' in your 46th fight to take on Jose Luis Zertuche :patsch

Other than that, he got his ass beat by junior middleweights like Baysungurov and Ouma

If I'm not totally mistaken, it is available via subscription = extra $$ on that sky high cable bill. Will have to investigate.

Don't even look his ass up on boxrec, you'll feel embarassed this clown is linked to Pavlik

I don't believe for a second Pavlik will waste his time with this if he can fight Abraham or Calzaghe. Even Duddy is a more credible opponent.

Rubio is real big puncher though, look at his KO ratio. I watched his fight with Ouma, he knocked him down twice in the first round but got outworked over the course of the fight. He definitely carries power though, Jermain Taylor wasnt able to knock down Ouma, and he was champ. The guy can punch

He may not be an elite level fighter, but he is a big puncher and generally exciting to watch. I think a fight with Pavlik would actually be an exciting matchup for as long as it lasted

That channel should be included as part of a basic pkg.

    Cable companies suck!

It used to be, as did a few other good channels, then they broke it off in pipe's ass. My cable bill now is like $140.00 a month. When I first signed on 2-3 years ago with Comcast from Adelphia, it was like $70.00.:verysad

Let's see, a whole lot of guys barely boasting winning records in his backyard

2 losses to junior middleweights, Kassim Ouma which I can excuse, but I have that fight against Baysangurov and he got whooped. Baysangurov is nothing special at all, he's just pretty fast B- level combination puncher

How are we supposed to get excited about his chances against the best middleweight with that in mind? At least John Duddy is undefeated (barely) and extremely marketable. I could see the logic behind that fight, even if its a forgone conclusion

Because style wise Pavlik vs Lockett' Rubio and Duddy are going to be slugfests while they last ending in big KO's. Sure none of these men can beat Pavlik but that does not mean they won't be action packed fights:bbb I remember when Hagler was beating his middleweight contenders even though Hagler out classed them they were still good action fights that wanted to watch same thing with Kelly and his contenders:nono

I'm sure Pavlik himself would much prefer to fight Abraham or Calzaghe, but if he must fight some of these middleweight 'contenders' I'd prefer Lorenzo and Duddy. Lorenzo is just as much a nobody as Rubio, but he's a better fighter. He's solid. Duddy is crap, but he is marketable and it would make for a nice event. They are also undefeated, which always adds something.
