Please do not bring up Lorenzo! His last 6 opponents had a collective 55 losses. Lorenzo/McKart or Lorenzo/Eastman would be an acceptable fight. No way in hell is he ready for Pavlik or Abraham.

Which is why I don't get cable. I don't have $70 worth of my time to watch it that much, let alone double. If I paid for it, I'd feel compeled to watch it. Ain't gonna happen. Especially with my second job loss this year pending.

Rubio would K.O. Duddy in 5 in a fight (Less than 5)
I'll be watching this fight, True Rubio ain't no SRR...
But against a Duddy all you need is "Cutting" power & it's over.

Pavlik would take either with ease IMO, I would rather watch
Rubio Vs. Duddy first & the winner get's a shot.

let's see what dude looks like tonight.
(I know they are not fighting eachother tonight, I'm assuming Rubio wins)

No doubt. As it has continually gotten steeper, I've considered dropping it or downgrading atleast. But the big 3 on the bill is HBO, ShowTime, and High Speed Internet.:yep They got me where they want me.

I don't watch Cable for much other than boxing and a few movies, but my family loves it. So what's a guy to do.....Pay up.:yep

If Pavlik had his way he would be fighting Winky,Abraham and Calzaghe in a row:yep To some extent this is all about the promotion and the ABC boys:hey Fighting Lockett sets up a fight with Calzaghe and get the WBO # 1 contender out of the way hopefully Joe and Kelly fight next:good If not hopefully if Abraham beats Miranda on on June 21 that will enough to set up Pavlik vs Abraham next:thumbsup I just don't know if the IBF will force Abraham to fight Lorenzo first:-( As for Pavlik fighting med level guys like Lockett, Rubio, Duddy and Lorenzo in show case bouts I don't mind at all as long as they are action packed fights:bbband make Pavlik look good, Lets face it Taylor was hurt bad after becoming champ because fought he was put in with guys one after other who's styles did not mash well with his:nono

Most of Rubio's 'wins' have losing records. Every time he stepped up in some kind of class, he got his ass beat down, and that was at 154 :-(

Lorenzo's resume isn't impressive, but he's an unknown quanitity and has a bit of potential. Rubio is a proven cast iron failure at the B- level, nevermind elite.

    Why would Duddy fight Rubio?

    * Very high risk fight
    * He would probably get knocked out
    * If he won it would position him nicely for a Pavlik fight - oh wait he already has that...Pavlik will fight him anyways, Bob Arum is drooling for this big sell out payday in front of all of Duddy's fans, and turning them into Kelly fans.

Duddy is next fighting Charles Howe who lost by TKO 1 in his last performance. Duddy's people went for softer fights after the Yory Boy which was a draw in my eyes. The got a bit brave with the Eastman fight five fights later and could have lost that with a different ref who was the sole scorer of the fight. Than the Smitchet debacle which was supposed to be a softer fight (again), in which Duddy barely got the nod.

Why the hell would Duddy's people want to end up a notch on Rubio's record?

The plan here is to get a series of easy opponents with trumped up records and go straight into a lucrative Kelly Pavlik fight which will probably be on regular HBO but a huge sell out event back East.

If Duddy can even be competitive vs Pavlik it will be a victory for them and might get him a few more tv dates (read $$$$) before calling it a day. If Duddy gets destroyed (very likely) I could see him ending his career that night.

But Rubio???? No way!! Duddy doesn't need that fight to get Pavlik. And its a fight he would most likely lose badly.

Rubio has a lot to prove and there are many options for him.
