It sucks for Rubio cause he was the mandatory for Martinez and now for COtto
and neither gave him his opportunity.

unify used to mean something when you collected 2 of 3 titles, or 2 of 4...
add up the WBA's, and all the other with their interim versions, and you can actually have 8 or 9 middleweight champions at the same weight at the same time :--(

Rubio's a Ring Magazine top 10 middle weight. No one in the top 5 will fight GGG, so good enough fight for me.

 

Absolutely, GGG will probably get the interim title and still hold nothing.

 

AFAIK it unfortunately doesn't work that way. Titlists from one sanctioning body generally don't get ranked as mandos in another no matter who they beat. The recent negotiations between the sanctioning orgs (sadly excluding the WBO) may improve matters, but I wouldn't expect things to change anytime soon.
