I love this fight. Going to re-watch it now, I suggest those with spare time do the same. Heavyweight fights rarely get more explosive. Ruddock got the **** beat out of him. To the head and to the body as well. He suffered a broken jaw and the left side of his face was grotesque. Tyson barely had a mark on him, but he said afterwards that he felt like he got jumped by ten guys. Those 10th round body shots by Tyson were ****ing vicious.
Ruddock was devastated physically in this. That being said, he dished out some punishment of his own..and I believe Tyson when he said that. Both were landing bombs, Tyson just more of them.
Freddie is the most ******ed, annoying, arrogant ******* that i've seen in boxing. And that says a lot. I despise him even more than Boringard Cosell and amazingly, he's even more biased than him as well.
Its Ferdie Pacheco. When you watch that fight, it certainly takes a little luster off of Lennox Lewis' destruction of Ruddock, who many rate as his best performance. Tyson ruined Ruddock.
Ferdie Pacheco was basically Larry Merchant with none of Merchant's tact and quick wit. Amazing fight though. Ruddock had too much heart for his own good and Tyson was pretty much still a wrecking ball (although you can see some lapses in the head movement that made him famous). Anybody know what Don King was bitching about in regards to Mills Lane? I thought Mills did a good job.
a bit surprising for me cause this fight was not long after tyson was beaten up by douglas but Tyson still looks good in both 1st and 2nd fight. Both fighters put great performance and they clearly respect each other, ruddock fought to the very end but like has been said, Tyson punches did much more damage than ruddock.
Quite the opposite: it's makes Lewis' quick KO more impressive, given that Tyson couldn't really put him away in 17 rounds and Lewis did it in 2.
