Live from Denmark the hard hitting hometown hero Rudy Markussen challenges for the WBA Interim Super Middleweight title verses the skilled Brian Magee. Fight Info: Date: Saturday, February 18th 2012 Location: Brondby Hallen, Denmark Weight Class: Super Middleweight ( Magee-Markussen ) TV Coverage: Boxnation ( UK ), TV 3+ ( Denmark ), TV 10 ( Sweden ), Polsat Sport ( Poland ) Notable Titles on the line: WBA Interim Title - Magee ( Champion ) Vs. Markussen ( Challenger ) Notable Undercard: Patrick Nielsen Vs. Jozsef Matolcsi, Micki Nielsen Vs. Attila Szatmari ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Brian Magee Vs. Rudy Markussen: Brian Magee is by far the better boxer than Markussen, He also has a pretty good chin so he can take some punishment from the " Hardhitter " but Markussen could land a bomb and make an upset. All depends. Magee is no stranger to any of Markussen's advantages, He has fought Carl Froch and Lucian Bute. Two fighters with power in there home town crowds. Both of them have more skills then Markussen clearly so I am not saying that since he lost to them he'll loose to Markussen! Magee is also familiar to Denmark, He impressed the hardcore fight fans when he stopped Mads Larsen a couple years ago in his home of Denmark sending him to retirement. How I see it going: Magee has all the tools to win this. Better skills I think. Markussen will hurt Magee a few times, win a few rounds but loose via UD, Getting outboxed most of the fight. Brian Magee UD 12 ( 117-111, 117-111, 116-111 ) PATRICK NIELSEN and MICKI NEILSEN in easy undercard bouts. Some of my favorite prospects. Check them out!
Also on the bill: Erik Skoglund - Juan Nelongo (Great test for Skoglund) Andreas Evensen - Julio Buitrago (Should be an easy win for Evensen) Torben Keller - Dzianis Makar (Second pro fight for Keller who is a good technician, and have been to the amateur euro and world championships. In the world championships he both times lost to the gold medalists. ( Jack Culcay and Taras Shelestyuk respectively) Matolsci is a good fight for Patrick as well. Matolsci stopped Oral and gave Britsch a very tough fight afterwards.
Not exactly impressed by Patrick Nielsen opponent, it's a small step-up. This time his opponent is not a boxing bag, like last time when he was in the ring.
It is absolutely good enough. Now we are gonna be able to compare Patrick (The top Danish prospect) withDominik Britsch (The top German one. In middleweight at least). Britisch had his troubles with this guy and Britisch has faced better opponents and had more fights than Patrick :deal
Np :good Dont know why Evensens, Skoglunds and Kellers opponents aint up on boxrec. The guy who has the responsibility for Danish events are usually on top of these things. Edit: They are now up on Boxrec.
I like Britsch, but honest he is nothing special.
Ganske interessant :think
The Event starts at 20.00 But i don´t how many fights they will show before Mcgee-Marcussen.. i will try to find out OFC :good
