If Hopkins being over the hill is a boxer who can beat Taylor, Winky, Tarver and Pavlik, then that's a DAMN high hill and so beating Hopkins at the point that Calzaghe did was one of the best wins of recent years. :good

 

Joe landed a large percentage of his punches and outlanded Hopkins in pretty much every round. You can give Hopkins one or two of the early rounds, but anything beyond that is unreasonable. No-one has ever dominated Hopkins in that way. You've already implicitly said that Calzaghe won the fight against Hopkins, so if your criticisms are to hold at all, then you have to admit Hopkins lost.

Also, there is absolutely no reasonable doubt that can be made that the Hopkins Calzaghe beat was one of the top 5 p4p boxers in the world.

Still, you're doing well. I'm barely resisting the temptation to go into a parody of people who make claims like "RJJ was in his prime against Calzaghe" and "Kessler is arguably a top 10 atg p4p".

 

Adrian Diaconu- Unproven against top opposition and has notorious stamina issues
Miguel Cotto- Dispelled any ideas I had about him being part machine....and he quit against Margarito
Kelly Pavlik- Got his ass handed to him by a 43 year old man
Juan Diaz- Got a thorough beatdown from a guy that got KTFO by Robbie Peden, by clowning no less

 

What on earth does it matter?

He is a better fighter now.

That is good for his fans.

the only reason his results after calzaghe are so bad is becuase calzaghe battered him over 12 rounds took him to school and back... that does alot mentally and physically to a fighter
id like to see you get in the ring and taking even one punch from calzaghe let alone 490, one of the most dominating performances in the ring ever, another destroyed american hope raped for fun
