I heard he signed a contract with a guaranteed purse in the rematch should he win. From what I’ve heard he signed for a purse of $10m guaranteed if he won and the date and location in to be decided by Matchroom and if he lost he was guaranteed another fight on DAZN if he wanted it for $1m which before the AJ fight was his biggest purse.

It will be similar deal or worse to the one Whyte was offered which he rejected.

Remember when Miller lost out, people like Ruiz and Ortiz were offered $5m to $7m and any rematch would have been something like 50/50 at best in their favour.

I have a feeling its still lion's share to Joshua.

Tje amount Ruiz will get for the rematch was already written in the original contract....nothing new here, the Klits did the same in their contracts. You guys really think Hearn would put himself and AJ in a position where ruiz call the shots and numbers in a rematch ruIz will be guaranteed a decent amount and AJ will get twice that amount...

im pretty sure wyhte was complaining about the rematch split when they were looking at fighting before the miller fight was announced..

surely there would have been something similar in the contract for miller/ruiz?

This sounds like Robbery to me, AJ getting paid $20-30 million per fight for 2 fights in which he is getting a brutal ass whipping in while the guy delivering the ass whipping is getting only 15% of the amount.

Sounds fair to me. AJ is the one who is taking damage and Ruiz is just having fun.

Its really not that much to regain 4 belts and remain the cash cow in the long run,it may even be necessary ? The money it draws will be huge.

Its not a wilder fight but it almost as big just cause AJ lost and bc of that hes become actually more popular which will help sell this fight ,now the U.S will REALLY be watching as well. Everybody who once followed boxing who didn't know AJ ,knows him now and had he won it would have gained little attention over here.

This is a a really big deal and the media really put fuel to it, could see over 100 million globally so its really no different than what AJ does offer and that's 50% to whoever defeats him in rematches like Whytes offer .

Its the Tyson vs Buster rematch we never got.

The reason why Whyte refused the AJ fight was the rematch clause dictated same financial terms as the first fight whereas Whyte demanded he should receive the bigger pie. That means Hearn should already have the financials of the Ruiz rematch under writing. What Ruiz demands is irrelevant. The rematch clause is pointless anyway if a party is able to get out of it by outpricing himself.

Sorry to bring facts into this, but I re-read the article on it last night. Dillians major beef was that Hearn was lowballing him and generally not being serious/forthcoming in the negotiations for the second fight (gee, where have we seen that before).

In Whyte's own words, they clearly had their eye on Miller as a means of introducing AJ stateside via DAZN and were just playing the game re giving him a second shot to keep up media pretences. The rematch clause was an additional sidepoint, not the main reason. It's out there on t'interweb if anyone cares to re-read it.

The UK fans have more heart than AJ to be willing to come in large numbers to receive such an ass whipping
