No it will be where Ruiz agreed to it would be when he signing the first contract. A contract is a contract and can be enforced.
No, it absolutely cannot be enforced. Failure to comply with it can result in litigation, and it's possible that Matchroom could obtain an injunction, but NOBODY can make Ruiz fight the fight as it appears in the contract. Additionally it is very clear from statements made by both Eddie Hearn and Adam Smith that the location of the rematch is up for grabs. I think it will be Vegas. That is all.
Who cares where it takes place at, just pay the man "Ruiz" what he deserves, he has certainly earned the right to it. As a fight fan I want to see if he can do it again!! So in the words of Mills Lane. LETS GET IT ONNNNNNN!!
It worked in Lewis/Rahman and Rahman had the superior promoter. Plus AJ is more liked than Lewis. I see this fight in th UK with Ruiz making a 20 million payday.
He is not the A side but will get life changing money for the rematch. not quite up to $50 Million but I suspect he could make up to $20 Million maybe more depending on pay per view sales. I understand the rematch clause gives AJ's side the right to determine location. while they want it in the UK ideally AJ is happy to do it in the US/New York. Ruiz is suggesting Mexico or LA if possible.
Obviously no one can force him to step into the ring but he is contracted to Matchroom to rematch AJ. If he doesn't fight AJ he won't be able to defend his titles against anyone else.
50mil plus Ruiz needs fight with 1 hand tied behind his back. Only problem is, Ruiz dropped AJ with both hands. LOL
50 million symbolic as well as it was the amount Finkel and Haymon found and called Eddie'd bluff on. They're trolling him at this point.
AJ wasn't doing anyone any favors but himself by fighting in the U.S. Have the fight in Las Vegas. I think they can pack the house. Ruiz has become an overnight sensation.
