How in the hell can Boxrec.com have John Ruiz ranked number 9 in the world at HW!!?? This Ruiz **** needs to stop, I dont dislike the man, hes a good fighter but I think its been clear for the past 4 years or so that he's not true championship material. This last loss to Valuev in their rematch should have at least knocked him out of the top 20. Every time he gets the chance to win a title or even a true big fight he comes up short. Hes a good competitor but not top 10 quality, how long can he thrive off of a win over Evander Holyfield in 2001? Since then he's best wins are Andrew Golota who is a complete head case, and an overweight Hasim Rahman back in 2003!

I welcome any disagreements, maybe you guys can help me understand whats so good about this man as a Heavyweight fighter in the sport today.

Good point, Its hard to say. I think guys like Alexander Dimitrenko, J.C. Gomez, David Haye, and even a Ray Austin or a Tony Thompson would beat Ruiz. But thats just speculation. Your right though his losses were mostly close ones, I cant help but think of his destruction at the hands of David Tua years ago. I just cant see him beating any of the best guys out there.
