why do people say he acted getting low blowed by johnson?

ive seen that fight a couple times to judge for myself. that first low blow was just plain low. the second one people claim ruiz jumped to get hit low. it looked to me he was hit low then jumped up. probably did so in pain

the third one was thigh/hip bone. nonetheless it was low and if you have ever bumped your hip bone into anything before it hurts. the final low blow was borderline but kirk was being told by his own corner to not go to the body.

ruiz may not be fun to watch but he has arguably fought the best opposition out there. go find me a heavy with a better resume.

i dont know where ruiz goes from here but since virchis and gomez are suppose to have eliminators i think he may fight one of them.

 

Because not only did he clearly do it multiple times in THAT fight, he did it in at least TWO other fights before that - once against Jimmy Thunder in 1997, and again against Holyfield in 2000 to "win" the title. In the Thunder fight, Ruiz got a crucial point deduction that enabled him to get a disputed split decision, and against Holyfield, his acting job - and one of King's compliant refs - saved him from getting counted out. In the Johnson fight, of course, he got the tainted DQ.

Ruiz has a CLEAR and LONGSTANDING pattern of using the low blow fake job as a technique to "win" fights. Couple that with his use of blatantly excessive HOLDING in most of his other fights, and you've got one pretty disgraceful career - the career of a talentless fraud who couldn't win against world class fighters other than to CHEAT, because he couldn't beat 'em otherwise.:yep

 

Ruiz is an overachiever. He has done so much with so little. I think Wlad would have a tough time beating him.

 

McCline isn't good but I figured he would have enough to beat Ruiz. I guess I was wrong.

 

i saw the thunder fight a long time ago. ruiz beat him with or without that lost point. i think i gave the fight to ruiz like 7-5

and i didnt think he jumped into the blow either. id have to see the fight again which i dont want to cause it was like paint drying

 

Well, most of Ruiz's fights - outside of Tua, of course! - suck, on that we can agree. :yep

You and I may be the only guys on this forum who SAW that Thunder fight. Of course, I disagree on the scoring. Think about this - even WITH the bogus point deduction, one judge STILL gave it to Thunder (as I did). That tells you just HOW critical that point deduction was.

My point is simply this - Ruiz's gameplan, as shown by repeated incidents, is to overact when hit with any punch that could remotely be considered low. When he's not holding on to the other fighter for dear life, that is! That a fighter with such limited ability could "win" fights using such disreputable tactics is really a disgrace to the sport. Many deserving fighters - and fans - have been cheated by this ****.:yep

I don´t think I´ve ever seen Zakman make a point about Ruiz I didn´t agree with. People say Wlad holds as much as Ruiz, but that´s BS. Especially since Ruiz actually launches into a clinch, where Wlad will wrap up an opponent who gets close.

 

ya his fights are boring but ive seen worse out there

i actually thought his fights with valuev and chagaev were solid. he def was robbed against the freak

and the golota fight had drama at times.

i respect a guy who makes something out of nothing though. cant help it. i heard the mccline fight mccline was doing a lot of holding and ruiz had hurt him a few times with big rights to the temple

There, I said it. And I still feel dirty. But the man can take away anyones advantages, and drag his opponent down to his level. From there, it's a lottery.

Peter would be befuddled and out hugged by the Octopus.
