Ruiz/Chagaev how'd u score it?

Don King - it was his power that got Ruiz his undeserved ranking and title shot in the first place, and allowed him to get away with all the illegal tactics to "win" a title.

Now, Ruiz gets fights primarily because he is a "name" opponent who is very beatable. Notice how, ever since King dumped him, he hasn't "won" a fight.

 

you sir, have an apparent hatred for Ruiz which blocks your viewing a fight from a neutral point of view. I have read some of your posts about Ruiz and you write with such passion that it really cracks me up. You hate this guy but can seem to stop writing about him, you type paragraphs about him, you need to get a life.You need to leave the past in the past and move on. I for one don't like Floyd Mayweather Jr. but I can see his fights and admit when he does good and bad, without letting my feelings for him blurr my vision of the truth, I suggest you do the same. Don't even waist your time writing back with an assault to me or with a long post to "prove" me wrong, because you will not get an answer back, don't expect me to write back to any of your hatred filled comments. I think i had Chagaev by two or three rounds ahead. There were some close rounds and Ruiz did very well early on, but Ruslan won a decisive decision in my opinion. Ruiz didn't hold that much by the way. From round 8 he did it somewhat because of tiring but it wasn't that bad. It was a pretty good fight in fact, a lot of close combat during the early rounds. Ruiz has an ugly style but in this fight he showed he CAN be pretty good.

 

What I "hate" about Ruiz is the corruption that accounted for a talentless clubfighter like him holding a "world" title illegitimately for so long. You may approve of the use of rigged rankings to get title shots and illegal and disgraceful tactics to "win" fights, but I do not.

All the critcism that Ruiz receives from me and other fans of LEGITIMATE boxing is MORE than justified.:yep

 

You've always been spot on about Ruiz. Before he lost his belt, everyone agreed with you as well. I don't understand how because he's fought a whole lot of people and has lost some close decisions erases the facts we know in hindsight and know from historical Ruiz incidents.

It's as if he's become a somewhat cult figure in his absence from stinking up the division.

I can't understand it really. It's like some boxing fans have developed a case of amnesia about just HOW bad Ruiz was, about HOW blatant the cheating and corruption that accounted for his "winning" fights and getting title shots was, and about what a fraud and disgrace it was to have a mediocre regional fighter holding a world title on false pretenses!

I will continue to try to set the record straight, as it is bad for the sport for this kind of charade to occur. It would be like having the Tampa Bay Devil Rays win the world series letting them play with corked bats.

 

i think i did a round by round for this fight.
from what i remnember 0of my scorecard, i thougyht most rounds were pretty easy to score.

i gave most of the early rounds to chagaev who outboxed ruiz
then in the middle rounds chagaev took his foot of the peddle and ruiz fiddled and outworked chagaev and then at the end chagaev came back and put his stamp on the fight.

chagaev by about 2 from memory , but it was clear her was the better more classy boxer, juyst for some inexcusible reason he went to sleep in the middle.
