And that’s different to Joshua’s situation how? Ruiz had a full camp, beat a guy easily, had a week off and then resumed camp. Ruiz was optimally prepared.
Do you think Ruiz just lost his fitness, timing, sharpness that he developed during camp by having a week off in between? He said himself that his extended preparation was perfect for him. He made sure he intentionally put on weight after his fight to support his extended training camp.

Did he have sparring resembling AJ 10 weeks out? Seems unlikely.

AJ was facing a somewhat similar challenge before Doughboy No. 1 roided out so no big shift there.

I gather you don’t know much about training. Being in the gym and being in camp preparing for a specific fight are completely different.

He fought a guy that is a 6’7 European, that’s perfect preparation for Ruiz. That’s closer to Joshua than Miller is to Ruiz. So yes, he did have sparring partners resembling Joshua. Ruiz fights nothing like Miller, Ruiz is a combination/counter puncher.
I gather you don’t know much about training, camp is for fitness and sharpness, tactics and gameplan are generally done in the last week or two. Many fighters don’t even watch tape, they rely on their trainer to employ sparring partners and watch tape for them.
Ruiz wasn’t just in the gym, he had an extended training camp.

OK so you clearly don’t know anything about this.

A camp includes sparring with partners specific to opponent - bring in speed guys if you fight someone fast, a mover if that’s what your opponent does, etc. You do that from start of camp not last two weeks. You practice game plan stuff throughout, basic foundation first then add to it.

Miller is a combination puncher, throws more punches per round than any other heavy.

Ruiz probably had tall sparring partners for his previous fight but they would have been off payroll and gone after that fight. So he would have needed to bring them (or others) back in for AJ - which he only knew about that fight 5 weeks out so probably had them the next week and for only three weeks leading into fight week.

Yes, as I said your team hires relevant sparring partners.
Ruiz doesn’t throw lots of punches, as I said he’s a counter puncher.
Yes Ruiz had tall sparring partners. He would have had to pay them more money to stay in camp? No way! What a hassle.
I’m not sure what your angle is but it makes no sense. Ruiz had the ideal preparation for this fight. He said it himself and I’m going to believe him because it makes perfect sense. He had 15 weeks of training camp with a fight and week off dividing it.

Are you saying the sparring partners assembled for his previous fight just hung around with no pay on their own accord in case AJ called and offered Ruiz a fight? So there was no gap in his training, he just fought and went into the gym the next day and they were ready to carry on, on faith?

    That’s not a single 15-week camp. That’s resuming training after a fight.

There wasn’t one continuous camp. If it was ideal then I presume he will have a “15-week camp” with a fight in the middle for the rematch? If not, why mess with ideal training.

He said it was ideal because he’s not a complainer or an excuse-maker like AJ supporters. He’s a problem-solver.
