Unless Wilder is absolutely shot to pieces, he will do serious damage to Ruiz.

If wilder can keep him at bay at arms length then Andy is finished…

As Ruiz will tire & wilder will put his fist through his head.

ruiz will have to pounce & smother him early & often catch him with one of them sneaky Andy Donut Destroyer temple shots.
If he is to have any Cham e at all.

I said earlier that the version of ruiz that beat AJ could beat wilder. I hope this fight gets made.

When I saw the subject of the thread my immediate thought was 'This is a no-brainer. Wilder is all wrong for Ruiz and Ruiz is perfect for Wilder. Deontay destroys him.' However a lot of you who've posted on this thread have brains I respect so I decided to rethink things.

In 2014 I told my son about this chubby, short heavyweight whom I thought had a chance to be a heavyweight champion. My son laughed at me when he saw Ruiz on YouTube the next day and we were both stunned when he beat Anthony Joshua. Ruiz has quick hands with good power. He's got a good chin and he's tough-minded in the ring. He's a quality boxer.

All of this being said, I don't think it matters. It is a matchup nightmare for Ruiz and I still think the worst version of Wilder from the three Fury fights takes out Ruiz inside of four rounds.

You of course mean 'another dent'.....

Ruiz is a very live dog in this one.

Aj beats Ruiz 10 times out of 11. Literally any half decent jab on the backfoot beats Ruiz.

Ruiz stops Wilder, I am 100% sure of that.

I just don't understand how Ruiz would do it unless Wilder is simply gone from the Fury fights.

Ruiz has gotten through a number of fights due to his chin, which is probably a result of the fat around his head and brain. AJ, Arreola and now Ortiz all smashed him in the head with big bombs. He doesn't have good defence. He's slow. His hands likely aren't faster than Wilder's. He also doesn't have big power.

I see Ruiz waddling forward and Wilder smashing him in the face through the guard like he did to Stiverne a number of times and then Ruiz falling over in a puddle of lard. I could see that happening in rounds 1-2 even.

If Ruiz gets inside, I don't think Wilder would be defenceless. I remember Stiverne, Arreola, Ortiz had a lot of trouble hitting him clean in there.

But if Ruiz can do it, it would be funny to see. Because Wilder would really go off the cliff then. If he can't handle losing to Fury, imagine losing to Ruiz.

Yet AJ has beat out most of top fighters in divison whilst Wilder beat one guy whose most notable win was against very average HW that benefited from one fight from dodgy referring point deduction.

The fact that AJ beat half dozen better boxers than Wilder ever does proves the point.

I wouldn't rule out an upset. He's probably the best fighter Wilder's fought not named Fury and has a good enough chin to not be blown out early. I think he gives Wilder a tougher fight than some might expect.

The Ruiz who fought Ortiz had been training out of the Photoshop Gym.

Despite the photographic 'evidence' prior to the fight, Ruiz somehow managed to be both lighter and fatter than he previously appeared - no mean feat. He basically CBA with boxing and that mindset vs Wilder results in a brutal loss.

But if fear of that right hand motivates him to train properly, we have a fight. That said, Ruiz has to punch with opponents to have success, so it's 12 rounds of Russian Roulette for the tubby Mexican. I think he loses if Wilder hasn't lost more than half a step...

Of course. Andy Ruiz is a much better boxer than his looks suggest.
He knocked out Anthony Joshua, and in the rematch AJ did not engagean inside fight; only from a distance.
Andy Ruiz already has a better resume than Wilder.
Andy Ruiz has a good chin. His loss to Joseph Parker is debatable. He has a good ring IQ and sticks to the gameplan.
However, I would not declare Andy Ruiz as the favorite in the fight with Wilder, because he still does not have a chin like Tyson Fury (just a shade weaker).

For whatever reason Ruiz seems to be on the slide a bit. Overall I attribute it to his lack of hunger now that he reached the pinnacle then lost it so quickly with no resistance against AJ.

He lost a tonne of weight only to look poor against Arreola and the Ortiz fight did nothing to really indicate he’s back to his very best.

Wilder is just a terrible style match up for him. Ruiz would find himself on the end of some spiteful punches and not have the movement to compensate.

Could be a great slugfest. Not my cup of tea personally.
