With his record straight, desire to fight the best, put away the whole hugging ... will he become HOF'er someday?
based on his style no, not right away. over time though, his style will become less intensely regarded as his record, which is pretty stellar certainly not in his first year of eligibility. ten years on, yup, he'll be in
IMO, he's lightyears above Wlad's HOF credentials. I mean, he actually fought Valuev rather than duck him like the Klits did and he also didn't fight someone else rather than wait for Haye's injury to heal.
:scaredas: WHAT?! John "Jab-Hug-Jab-Hug" Ruiz is one of the most OVERRATED FIGHTERS OF ALL TIME. First latino Heavyweight Champion...k fine. But top 20 ATG?? You are either smoking LSD laced hasheesh sherm blunts, or you are John Ruiz' brother.
No, he is one of the most underrated fighters of all time. So what if he doesn't have the most pleasing style, it gets the job done. Wins over Tucker, Johnson, Golota, Rahman, McCline and ATG Holyfield (name me a fighter the Klits have beaten that is better than Holyfield?), plus most of his losses have been close controversial decisions to the other best heavy's of his generation.
he's got a point. as the TS stated, forget his style. his resume and effectiveness is quite impressive. how many of you would love to sit and watch the complete set of sammy angott or slapsie rosenbloom? their styles by all accounts were boring as hell and terrible to watch but few would doubt they are hall of famers
