You mean you are actually considering the possibility there's none?

    Exactly. Hearn isn't dumb.

The rematch isn't in question. It's who controls the bout. Naturally the Brits think they do, but the reality is whoever owns the belts controls the particulars.

100%. We find out within 30 days anyway when Joshua has to invoke rematch clause.

Do nothing about it? Are you stupid? They could have not signed the contract or stipulated that whomever wins the belts decides. Stop acting like Hearn is some mastermind. o_O

Listen ******, it was a voluntary defence with an immediate rematch clause. Will be in a venue of Matchrooms choosing and Ruiz would have had to sign this contract in order for the first fight to take place.

Where did I say that you fool?

Joshua has 30 days to invoke the rematch clause, they then negotiate purses and find a venue. Fight happens in the UK around November time in Cardiff.

The problem with you Brits is that you assume **** like this. Just like Hearn assumed a fat guy was an easy cherry pick. You don't know the contract or what its contents include.

Seriously some of you guys are clueless and know so little about the inner workings of boxing. Hearn has 'options' on most fights he puts on, even if the fighters aren't in his stable. He also owns stuff like intellectual property of the fight. So many things in the contract people don't consider.

Not all of us mate but point taken. This is the legacy of 6 years of iFL "interviews" where Hearn decided to let every armchair boxing manager in the UK in on the ins and outs of contracts, now everyone thinks their some hotshot lawyer working for Matchroom. Unpaid of course.
