An impressive thing about Ruiz is that he's so confident of knowing how to beat Joshua he doesn't have any strategy secrets. He was open about how and what he'd do to win before they fought, and he's already made statements telling us he's sure Joshua will try to box cautiously in the rematch at long range. I think Ruiz was prepared for all of that the first time around anyway. Joshua has to open up at some point, and Ruiz will be on him. If Joshua wants to box at range, Ruiz will just work his way inside. I don't think Joshua can keep Ruiz off for 12 rounds. Unless they dig up that referee from the Parker fight ! Joshua's best chance is to take Ruiz out early. But the common advice is that he shouldn't try that ! (because he'll leave himself open for the counter attacks again). It's a Catch 22 for Joshua.
Me and you are on same page with this one. It made me smile when I read the article on Dave Price saying he should swerve the rematch with him. He also believes stylistically he’s all wrong for him. Saying that, Ruiz was getting set-up for getting jobbed on the cards in the first fight. I had it 58-56 Ruiz after 6 rounds. Baffled how the judges had it like they did.
Ruiz will beat the chinny robot up like an errant stepchild same again wherever they put this fight. For that reason, I don’t think this rematch happens next. I’m out.
Ruiz must not fight Joshua in the UK or he will get cheated by the judges and ref. Have the fight in Mexico or LA!!!
