I think the absolute worst thing a fighter can do is make excuses after a fight. Ruiz said after the fight he did not prepare enough, and cane in too heavy. Very predictable excuses. When fighters make excuses they alawsys come off worse to fans.
Well they are legitimate excuses and the reasons he lost the fight, it's his own ****ing fault though
Yeah it's a joke. It's his fault he didn't prepare and get in the gym. Too late to get hungry. He schooled him. No need for a rematch.
Excuses are even worse when they are self inflicted ‘I got sick before the fight’ for example is very different from ‘I didn’t prepare right and came in fat as hell so.... who wants to see a third fight?’
That's his own ****ing fault. He knew for MONTHS how AJ was likely to box against him. Instead, he trained at the burrito stand. It's a shame as he has the tools stylistically, and the chin, to really hurt Joshua. Joshua did exactly what he needed to, so all credit to him.
He wants a third fight. Guess is Ruiz thought Joshua would wear down at some point in the fight if Joshua fought the style he did tonight. Joshua didn't wear down and Ruiz could not catch up to him. Any Ruiz future preparations must involve working to cut off the ring. Otherwise, no point in any more fights with Joshua.
Many people said before the fight he was partying too much and got lazy. Excuse or not, it's irrelevant. He was in control and he decided to eat at the buffet instead of training.
Zero interest in a third fight. Joshua will fight him the same way every time. Hell, the shots Ruiz did land had no effect.
Is it making excuse or owning up to his mistake? At least he admitted he didn't train. Can't blame anyone but his own fat ass
Didn't see any of the handspeed showcased in the first fight. He must realize even if there is a third fight, it will be completely under Joshua's/Hearns' terms now.
Everyone is going to make excuses for Ruiz especially CST80 All these guys counting out AJ saying he is finished, he is hype... all that crap....
If that's his excuse, its on him. He had ample time to prepare, he just seemed like he thought he could just come in and bomb AJ out. As I say, his preparation is entirely on him, and his loss is down to that and AJs obvious adjustments in camp being executed in the ring
He doesn't deserve a 3rd fight after that. He has himself to blame and let himself down coming in morbidly obese.
