Well, actually Ruiz is correct. In a lot of his fights, his opponents do just as much holding, if not more. That includes Oquendo, Rahman, Valuev, and definitely McCline.

He did hold the crap outa Golota though.

But he is correct in his statement. And personally, i've never found Ruiz fights THAT boring. He's had a few good ones. McCline ruined their last fight.

Yep Ruiz is maybe the most underated hevyweight in history:yep

He dominated McCline, who had WBC champion in canvas three times just last year.

Highly doubtful. Ruiz fought a better fight against Valuev than did anyone else, equally as good as Chagaev and Ruslan won. Not only that, but aside from being flustered early by Tua in a fluke KO, Ruiz has never even come close to being knocked out.

Valuev by UD (taking into consideration the location)

I know. I guess it is just wishful thinking. Ruiz is one of the very few fighters I absolutely cannot stand.

Oh, please. Everyone who's ever watched Ruiz fight knows he's a mediocre fighter who holds excessively because he can't compete at the world class level otherwise. And you are as delusional as Ruiz himself if you cannot recognize that he would never have been allowed to get away with these BLATANTLY illegal tactics were he not signed by a powerful promoter.

Isn't it interesting that, as soon as King dumped Ruiz, he consciously decided - by his own omission - to hold less?? I wonder why?? Could it be he KNEW he wouldn't be able to get away with it anymore without getting DQ'd - as he should have been in EVERY fight he had against world class fighters up to that point.

And isn't it also revealing that the one victory he's had over a live body since was against an old and declining Jameel McCline. That's about the best a glorified regional fighter like Ruiz could beat WITHIN the rules. That's about the best victory he ever WOULD have had had he not signed with Don King!!

Two things I remember about the Golota vs Ruiz fight is the over 200 clinches and that Ruiz must have had a whole jar of vasaline on his face it was pathetic. Oh yeah, and Norman Stone getting thrown out of the arena.

Ruiz is correct, his opponents do just as much holding its not all Ruiz it takes two, what I dont get is how Ruiz gets dissed yet Wlad is allowed to hold this ****ing blows my mind. Wlad holds more than Ruiz does now and days.
