Anyone think there's a chance of this? Haymon has paid his fighters to do this before, and if Al wants to open up the division, i.e. Have more titles under his command that would be the way to do it.
ruiz will now be stripped as per their rules. Same happened to fury. Fury is fighting IBF top 10 rated Schwartz next. The IBF have magically made the no.2 spot vacant, moving kabayel down to 3. Pulev vs fury for the vacant title.
Al is going to want to damage Hearn and mess up his attempt at breaking the USA. If Hearn thinks that piece of paper is going to make it happen, he is going to realise it’s not. This isn’t like your English boarding school, where people play by the rules.
The contract is legally binding, so he will be sued in a court of law for breach of contract. Haymon can go down this route if he is prepared to take a hit, probably 70 odd million or so. He definitely has options. Joshua's mental breakdown could also continue and the rematch never happens. This is the most favourable outcome for Haymon and I am sure his goons are busy working on their remote hypnosis device to ensure this result.
Really he only has the WBC in his pocket which is why Wilder gets away with what he does.. The IBF will take their belt for starters and the others unless they get paid off probs will too..
I'm not sure this is the case, Hearnz has a good relationship with the IBF that's how they got the belt in the first place. They will all want the rematch to take place as it generates the most money for their percentage take.
I mean't they will take it from Ruiz if they don't follow their mandatory requests.. I think the others will too so Haymon won't be able to monopolize the belts like the OP is suggesting..
Court cases in boxing can take 2-3 years, at which point the whole rematch becomes a moot point. Al Haymon can really lay in on Hearn, by playing this card, and then agreeing on an out of court settlement to avoid any significant financial loss. He ends up gaining though by playing this tactic. There is a delaying tactic here to really kill of Hearns ability to break America and get back those belts. I am sure Al will play this card if Hearn insists on pulling his pants down by forcing the rematch to be in the UK.
This is the key. The rematch and pretty much any Joshua fight generates a bigger sanctioning fee than any Fury fight besides Wilder. Pulev is their mandatory and a Ruiz or Fury vs Pulev fight generates them next to nothing. If AJ wins the rematch an AJ vs Pulev fight will still generate big numbers
I was more driving at the fact that it looks as though Ruiz is forced into a rematch next with AJ. He's hardly commanding the belts, like he has done with Wilder, if he isn't choosing who's fighting for them. Numbnuts.
Ruiz isn’t forced into anything. He just sonned the chinny robot and made him quit. Team AJ will DUCK the rematch anyway as getting KTFO twice in a row to a tubby Mexican is the end of product AJ. They are marketing a product not managing a fighter.
