:think Really? I would have thought it more than that. But I guess this sounds about right. Thanks. :thumbsup
I know that, my post was directed to the negativity on Ruiz. Even though he lost to those guys many scored them for Ruiz especially the two Valuev fights.
No one should care about what no hopers think. What Ruiz is doing DEMANDS respect, the guy is ready to fight everyone anywhere.
Your view, knowledge of boxing and you in general is whore****. If you can't appreciate how this guy will travel and still find the motivation to train despite knowing he constantly gets robbed without even THINKING about quitting then you must have issues. For a 71 year old man I would expect some maturity by now, you know well enough that any other fighter would have called it quits or showed weakness, the man still keeps coming and deserves respect for it.
Well put man, you can hate his style all you want but denying that this guy has the heart of a tiger is idiotic for ANY hardcore or casual boxing fan. The guy was fighting Valuev and exchanging with him like Valuev was the smaller guy, he exposed and beat the fraud Valuev and despite TWO robberies he showed interest for a third one and now showing interest for Wladimir all on SHORT NOTICE.
He will always keep coming. Don't know why Puerto Rican fights don't show proper support for this guy, I know his style might not be the best but the guy's heart can't be questioned and is a true champion/professional. This is someone they should be proud of.
Probably because his style is....how would we say....well not aesthetically pleasing. Not just that but it's because sort of easy to join in on the "Ruiz Sucks!" bandwagon/club. Guy's underrated as a fighter who fights everyone regardless of the time and the location and the check. But he's just real easy to make fun of.
Ruiz has balls, gotta admit that. Valuev, not so much. And until we see an acceptance of the offer, I question Chagaev's balls.
Making fun is okay, that's normal as we all do it. For Ruiz it goes beyond that, it's denial and hate.
Mainly because Ruiz represents that...period of boxing where the transition from The Kltischkos and The 90s era was going on. Guys like him, Byrd and company are the bridge that most boxing fans seem to hate with a passion. I don't hate Ruiz (I commend him on a number of occasions)...but they hate his style and his era more than anything else.
