Abel Sanchez was in his corner for that fight, but Andy has said that he basically trained himself. I see the footage of him running by himself or with very few people, but can anyone clarify what he meant by this? Were he and Abel not on the same page?

No surprise to see a lot of fighters leave Abel Sanchez

Abel had several fighters ,its why Joyce left a bit to soon bc Abels focus was on Golovkin at that time and Joyce was really showing good angles and working off the jab unlike the fight after he left Abel.

Ruiz also won that fight if ppl know how to add punches that land and configure ring generalship into a fight.

Ruiz vs parker may have also been a fast put together fight ?

Its why popular trainers need to be paid more ,they are working overtime. its why Trey Morrison a current HW left Roach bc he needed one on one but is now back again which good bc Trey looked better again with roach then without him. and can surround himself with knowledgeable guys at wilder card.

Ruiz talked a lot about being trained by Sanchez (and vice versa), pretty sure there were pics of him with GGG as well, Sanchez came over for the fight and has since talked a lot about their time working together - before AND after the AJ fight.

I'm still not sold on Ruiz's "class", he was a sore loser after the VERY competitive but legit loss to Parker... I bet he won't be interested in a fight with Parker now he has titles. I don't feel like he SHOULD feel obliged to, but he knows Parker is one of the few people who have a very healthy chance of beating him and now he has something to lose instead of gain he would avoid that fight.

The same goes with claiming he trained himself, just trying to make it look like he was not 100% of his potential when he was in good shape after a good camp for Parker. He talked about it heaps before and after at the time - he will make excuses when Joshua more than likely beats him in the rematch, if he doesn't try and worm out of it.

Don't get me wrong, I loved seeing the underdog story and he very much deserved the win but now he holds the prize it will be interesting to see what character he shows from now on in.
