Bang on mate. As soon as Ruiz stood up after the kd AJ smashed him with one hell of a right hand that didn't even move big Andy. He literally walked through it and couldn't believe my eyes.
The shenanigans won’t work for a fight of this scale. if Ruiz has the beating of him That’s all there is to it. A slightly bigger ring won’t help. If the ref tries anything obvious the whole fight would be a farce. AJ might try the jab and run, but if he gets anywhere it will have to be from his skill set and adjustments made.
Timestamped... AJ enjoys what he does as a boxer/fighter/warrior There are no dark places in any ring for joshua This content is protected I just cant understand your angle about dark places... this guy fights for a living...
You’re right, you don’t understand. I’ve given you the benefit of the doubt too many times now. You drag this Brit board down with your posts that look like they’ve been typed by a 12 year-old, slagging off anyone who posts anything even remotely negative about Whyte. I want to interact with people who enjoy their boxing but who are also balanced and can interact with resorting to insults or taking things out of context or even just making things up like you do. You’re a clown and you’re on ignore from now on.
If that’s not the result, it’s definitely the plan. McCracken said in an interview a couple of days ago that they’ve been working on ignoring and not reacting to the crowd if they’re booing the fight.
Are we underestimating a draw One sided to ruiz, goes the distance. Would be robbery for aj win so they compromise a corrupt draw
Just watching the IFL interviews...Froch, Macklin and Adam ‘I was nowhere near Praia da luz in 2007’ Smith, are all talking surprisingly negatively about the possible outcome of this fight. It’s crazy to see. They don’t seem to view the weight loss as a positive either. Reflecting back on that Matchroom meeting, by the sounds of it we’re going to see a very cautious Joshua. He talked about taking the shots when they presented themselves rather than trying to force it. There’s a risk that he could be a bit gun shy in this fight imo, or at the very least not sit down on his punches for risk of being ambushed if his feet were planted. From the Ruiz perspective, his team have talked about making himself even smaller and harder to land on. He’s going to have to use educated pressure and set traps for Joshua to commit to a shot. He’s took the power from AJ, and he’s even got up off the floor to win...that belief in itself makes him a much more dangerous fighter in this rematch.
This content is protected Another strange AJ interview - comes across as weird to me, it's almost like his psyche has been over-coached and drilled. Ruiz, by contrast, really relaxed and genuine. Also amusing when AJ compared himself to a Roman Gladiator saying 'people didn't suggest gladiators should retire if they lost a fight' - no AJ, they didn't. Because if a gladiator lost a fight, he'd be dead.
the thing that worries me about AJ is that he talks about things in degrees of perfection, getting the right angle, perfect timing. None of that stuff is going to matter when he has Ruiz bulldozing him. Ruiz seems a lot more relaxed when talking about the fight, he talks about adding things to improve on what he did before, whereas AJ seems to find it difficult to explain what he is going to do without going onto a meaningless monologue. I can see the weight concerns as well, if its a big loss I wonder about the effect it will have on him in the fight and his already shaky punch resistance. It’s a big change in a short amount of time, I guess it could be a positive but I find it hard to believe he is just going to come in with a totally different approach and its going to work. As said before, this strategy, whatever it is, is going to be a remarkable success, or fall flat on its face. Not sure what to think of it at this point.
I've said already that I don't see AJ landing better shots than he landed. That left hook was his best. As was the following right hand. Ruiz went down but he got up strong as an ox. AJ can land more punches, yes, but we know what happens when he opens up on Ruiz - big combinations come right back at him.
Diamanté a few days ago... This content is protected Diamanté tonight... This content is protected The difference was seeing Ruiz at the open work out.
Just watched the fight meeting there. Anyone else think joshuas gonna try and fight like wilder on saturday. Lost a good bit weight for it. Mentioned hes gonna be selective with his punches. Not go looking for the knockout etc. Might not be a bad idea tbh....nullify ruiz,s attacks. Back track when ruiz goes forward. Let ruiz lead...try to not get involved in exchanges or even lead first with them....Even if ruiz gets through with joshua on his way backwards....it,ll take a lot of sting from his punches. Puts ruiz in a pattern of leading first...which is quite a dangerous position to be in at heavyweight. Thats what joshua should have done the first time. Instead he tried to lead and ruiz punched with him and kept punching. Left joshua in a vulnerable position. Reckon if he gets ruiz to lead first....ruiz then becomes vulnerable. I m not sure there gonna go just for points tbh. As rob said....you cant really jab and outrun ruiz....he cuts the ring well. And can punch in bunches. At some point he forces you to exchange if your just running. Joshua will run but it,ll be to make ruiz reset. Reckon joshua will stand his ground just out of range....when ruiz goes to start his offence....he,ll offset it by retreating. Ruiz will fall into a patterning of following him. Leaves joshua dictating when he attacks. Hard to fight against tbh... as the one needing to lead the attack. Classic klitchko way of fighting. Wilders adopted it. Can see joshua stealing it on saturday. He,ll knick points jabbing. Stand his ground just out of range....before retreating when ruiz goes to start his offence. Its frustrating to fight against as the smaller man. Becomes hard to know when the bigger guys gonna choose to try to force you to reset....or go on the offence. I still say it leads to a lot of wilders knock outs. Its not just having heavy hands.
The Matchroom posters have been extremely quiet during fight week. They must be busy preparing thread's for a Joshua win.
