Is it that much of a stretch to spend 12 weeks putting more muscle on when he was carry about 6 stone of fat? I don’t know enough about it, genuine question.
people are going a bit overboard with the weights tbh mate, i don't think it will have any bearing on the outcome personally. Its just going to be used as an excuse to discredit joshua if he wins by folk on here.
Definite stretch, a stone of pure muscle whilst training cardio is very hard going without some "extra help." It's got to be flab. Got to be. There's no way I'm having Andy Ruiz is such a mastermind that he's been buying every car he wants, bought a mansion, thrown a massive party with youtubers and celebrities to create a false sense of security for AJ, then telling everyone he's lighter before putting skin tight weights on his body. Ruiz has been enjoying his new found millions of quid. I don't blame him, but if he loses here he'll need to be more sensible with his next pay packet. I fancy AJ to win a boring decision even more now. That was my original pick, but this has just confirmed it. He'll be safety first all night. Only variable will be if Ruiz tires and AJ blasts him after 6.
I’d say so, yes. Especially while doing boxing training. Unassisted anyhow. I’m not an expert by any means but having been sceptical of all the people saying boxers are cheating, did a fair bit of reading. Personally think he’s either been enjoying the money and eating and drinking too much...or it’s funny business with weights or similar to throw everyone off. Probably the former though.
It's kinda annoying as if Joshua wins people will throw out the "Ruiz was fat and didn't take it seriously" comment and discredit the win. I'm a bit annoyed with Ruiz tbh. Potentially robbing us of what would have been a great fight.
Will be interesting to see if Ruiz hits the deck again will he have that same hunger to get back up and fight? Millions change people
We don't know for sure he's heavier. He left his clothes on and a hat. Could've easily had weights on him to make AJ think he's heavier.
Dillian Whyte was 13 lbs heavier for Rivas than he was for the Chisora rematch and arguably beat a better fighter in Rivas. Ruiz most likely started camp heavier than normal due to all the attention he received after beating Joshua. He weighed in fully clothed, had just eaten and probably had 5ilb of Bling in his pocket. He looked sharp in his media workout back in October and a lot faster in the media workout this week. I'd actually be more concerned if he had dropped weight. No one seems concerned about Whyte and he weighed in 25 lbs heavier than the Chisora fight. It's possible Ruiz is shopping at the same Holland and Barrett as Whyte. I could be totally wrong but I think it's all mind games. I see the Buster Douglas comparison but Tyson was in worse shape for that fight than Douglas was for Holyfield. If Joshua loses this fight he is done.
I hope to Christ Ruiz had some lead weights in his pockets. “Float like a buffalo” comes to mind. I’m sticking with Ruiz but the man is giving me a few doubts.
I’d be more worried for ruiz if he came in lighter. Heavier not ideal but he’s used to being fat so I recon it’s all good
Hearn was quite funny at the weigh in actually. Usually all smiles but today he was stone-faced, giving Ruiz an icy handshake after the stare down. Edward means business
