Make the Fury and Wilder fights now. It’s gone on long enough

just make the fights then. Fury and wilder don’t want AJ. Neither of them are confident winning cos they’d make the fight already. And I’d favour Wilder against AJ. And Fury. Those two don’t want the fight. It’s the biggest payday they’ll get. Make the fight. I don’t doubt that Joshua wants it.

Gotta give his his dues, tonight. Whilst it won’t strike fear into the rest of the division, it was never about that tonight, it was just about winning those belts back. He showed he can win in a different way, so although he doesn’t make it look pretty it was very effective. It also showed huge nads getting back in with the lad who splattered him a few months back. I didn’t think he should have took the rematch and that stylistically Ruiz had his number....so what did he do, he changed his style and controlled the fight.

It proper irks that we’ll have to listen to that muppet Eddie Hearn and all the inevitable numbers talk, but Joshua did show his amateur pedigree tonight and his adaptability. Fair play to him.

Gonna be interesting twenty. For me its time to see the big guns fight. Joshua needs a pulev next but after that....its pretty much time for fury or wilder. I m not sure a fury v wilder fight is whats needed next. I think fury will beat him again if hes still in any kind of form. Bursts the bubble of a wilder v joshua fight a bit.

Heavyweights in a bit of a transition period atm. Three guys pretty much stand alone above the rest in wilder, fury and joshua.

Whyte was disappointing tonight. Chisoras bubble was burst a bit from whyte. Parkers bubbles burst. Ruiz threw away a massive opoertunity away tonight. Povetkin and ortiz quality just a bit too old. Hunter doesnt look like hes got enough to trouble the top 3. Usyk wont be big enough for them. The up and comers need more time.

Honestly looks to me like the top three need to fight it out to get it started again.

Good fights to be made tho.

Think joshua v wilders needs done tho.

It’s very exciting. I think Wilder, Joshua and Fury all have opponents in that top 10-15 who could be their kryptonite and beat them. Joshua needs to rebuild now. He got his win and his belts back, but I think he‘ll fight Pulev and then a voluntary after that to put a winning run together. I think we’re looking at 2021 for a mega fight.

Completely 100 percent agree twenty. Joshua deserves massive props for it. The guys great for the sport...great work ethic. Puts everything into boxing and maximised every bit of talent hes had through sheer hard work. Its hard not to take your hat off to him for it.

Joshua done what he had to do tonight. But still think ruiz chucked it away with his own stupidity. I dont think joshua blew it the first time...he just got caught against a style he didnt like. They changed everything up completely for the rematch....you cant blame them for it....but they got lucky that ruiz was pretty much out of shape in comparison to the first fight. Would it have been enough to beat joshua the second time round with the changes....not many will agree but i still say it probably would have been. Regardless tho joshus showed himself to be the better man. Part of being the better man is down to dedication. Joshua showed he had it in abundance. Deserves massive credit for tonight.

Quite intetested to see what road joshua takes tbh. Needs a pulev next. Will his style stay the same tho....and will the casuals keep paying for something that looks a bit fury-esqu. I genuinely think joshua should bulk up for fury and wilder. Not a lot will agree with that. But hes not a good enough boxer to get the success he got tonight against them. Fury will outbox him at boxing and joshua wont have the same power he had at say 255 or something like that. Needs to bulk up and learn to cut the ring off well against them two. He,d beat the rest with that style tonight.

I think fury needs more warm ups as well first.

Wilder,s ready for anyone. I think there will be cracks in him when he starts fighting decent men that dont have to give away a decent length advantage. Its a massive part of his success....as well as the heavy hands.

Ruiz’ chin looks to be very sold to be fair. I’m also not entirely sure that a fight like last night demonstrates much because tactically Joshua had no reason whatsoever to go after Ruiz for the final third. He was always going to win doing what he’d been doing so he stuck to that. Joshua behind on the cards may be a different animal.

The Fury fight is the one which brings intrigue. I think Wilder Joshua is fun but we all know the score is simply a game of who seriously lands first. My take is Joshua straight down the middle hurts Wilder enough to get it done, and is more likely than Wilder landing something which, for want of a better word, is a bit wild.

We all know what Fury will do. The question now will be whether Joshua tries to box him. For all the talk of Fury being the master at this he lands very little. Plus Joshua obviously has a plan B option that I’m not sure Fury does.

I thought he did v well to have a game plan, train for 6 months to change his body to do it and have the mental fortitude to stick to it. I really enjoyed the fight - you knew if Ruiz got up close he would throw the kitchen sink - AJs jab was good and the movement v good (as helped by the larger ring!)

So many people said he couldn't execute such a gameplan over 12 rounds - but he did - and obviously worked v hard in the ring and gym sparring over 6 months to do it

6 months ago he took a beating and he must have felt embarrassed given the general publics perception of his opponent given how fat he is
He also took a lot of stick

But he showed a lot of courage to -
immediately go for the rematch (so many people said he was crazy)
listen to his trainers and coaches not his wish to smash up the guy that humbled him
go off radar for so long
adopt a style that is really quite opposite to the heavy, big punch, bullying style he had been using

Last nights fight I think he did so well not to get drawn into a needless war and to let his head rule - he stayed v calm for the most part and only ever looked shaky when trying to hold as Ruiz was v good at exploding from the attempted clinches

In the post fight interviews he confessed he wanted to trade at times (I wanted to put my fist through his face) but kept reminding himself of the gameplan and stuck to it; they simply needed to win.

Given there wont have been a rematch clause that is 100% right if he wants to continue to try control business

I think it will change him as a fighter - he believes he can beat anybody with the right plan and will stick to it for the most part. I think he will not gain so much muscle mass again. Would be so interesting to see how they decide to fight Wilder and Fury - both could literally be stink fests!

But last night should put paid to accusations of "plodding stiff robot with no movement" "bodybuilder with no gas tank" etc etc

Hope we get the fights we all want to answer the divisions big questions - I do think its to much about money, PPV and contracts.

Joshua deserves credit. Boxed how he had to, to get the win. I think he gets a pass for going with the 'boring' approach, the only aim last night was to win. It wasn't a barnstormer obviously, but I still enjoyed the fight, Joshua done well to change things up and box to a gameplan. His jab was superb, he could've won the fight with just his jab alone more or less. Ruiz has a chin on him, maybe being 20 odd stone helps with that though. He really let himself down coming in at that weight for a fight of this magnitude.

We need Joshua, Wilder and Fury to fight each other ASAP. I don't think they're gonna get any bigger than they are now. Plus I think Wilder is 34 now, time isn't on his side, it would be a real shame if we finally get Joshua vs Wilder but Wilder has slipped past his best. I want Wilder vs. Fury II to happen early next year, while Joshua takes care of a mandatory, then hopefully we get the winner of Fury vs Wilder fighting Joshua in the summer or Autumn and maybe the loser against Whyte, Hunter or Ruiz for another big fight. If we get all the right fights at heavyweight, I personally think Wilder will come out as the top man. That sledgehammer of a right hand will be the what gets him there.

Think the only problem is joshuas plan b....comes at the expense of he needs to come in light to implement it. Hes kind of stuck between picking plan a or plan b. Heavier with more power....he cant move around so much. Lighter and move around more....he doesnt have the same power. The way for joshua to beat wilder and fury for me is to come in heavy cut the ring off....bully wilder and try to make fury make a mistake.

I m not sure his boxing will get him anywhere against guys on that level with good length. He boxed well last night...but its been a six months crash course. That worked well against an overweight guy with a 74 inch reach. Wait till he tries it against a guy with an 83 inch reach.

I think he can beat them all. Wilder looks the best atm. Again tho he,ll fold when he doesnt have the length advantage. Hes frustrating opponents with the length advantage before walking them on to something. When hes not able to frustrate them without having the length advantage....he,ll get found out. I still say hes petrified of getting hit. He only chucks the right hand out when he knows hes safe hes not gonna get hit back. Good boxing tbh. When that advantage is taking away from him tho....it,ll be a different wilder on show imo anyway. Joshua last night didnt quite have the power to make wilder fearful. The big version of joshua will tho. Wilder giving away about 30 lbs if not more. Joshua at 250 will bully him around the ring imo.

A J fought the prefect fight ,a winning fight,he didn't give away his height and reach and kept Ruiz at distance ,dominated with his jab.I was very impressed that he could maintain that mobility for 12 rds

In football if you have a six foot four striker who's good in the air you don't play the ball along the ground. In cricket if the pitch is tsking spin you don't pack your team with quck bowlers. In boxing, if your opponent is shorter than you and punches harder than you, you don't let him get in close and drop your guard. Joshua fought the perfect fight to beat Luiz. Next up, he'll very likely box differently.

Ah bollocks I just wrote a long post covering every aspect of last night and it’s fcking deleted from my shot phone.

    summary
1 People in the pub were speculating Ruiz had been paid off by Saudi oil money to not try and win
2 big group of casuals walked out in disgust after three or four rds
3 less punches thrown than fury vlad?
4 oversized illegal ring was a clear factor
5 Joshua deserves some credit for adding another tool to his box in learning to box long against a short inside fighter
    6 total garbage fight
7 real fight between top two in feb
8 fury still schools both these guys with ease, wilder still puts both to sleep
9 my money is firmly on wilder via brutal ko now as fury’s legs are shot - check my posting history for rationale on this line

I wonder how much of the money made in Saudi Arabia from this will go towards funding and exporting terrorism?
