Eddie Hearn was even more liberal with the truth than ever.

He's totally changed his tune on rematch location.. now it's about 'growing the sport of boxing(!)'. Said the reaction was 'mostly positive, some negative' which is a complete lie. One look at the reaction to his post on Twitter when announcing this fight will show you that even lots of Matchroom FC hated the idea.

I understand he's got to spin it positively, but that was amusingly insincere even by his standards!

 

As a man of my word I shall honour the charity bet.... As soon as I see AJ v Ruiz in the ring and it's not in the UK. Until then no payout!!

 

I'm not overly keen on it being in Saudi Arabia, but I will clearly still watch the PPV.

Still a massive fight, and if the rumours are true ($50M fee to stage it) plus UK PPV, Dazn fee etc - you can understand why Hearn has done it.
