He's screwed if he believes any of that.

He's saying some odd things and that 6 min video posted in the other thread where he's repeating "I'm looking for my ball of energy" doesn't fill you with confidence.

Defensively Ruiz was all over the place and pretty much just used his granite chin and toughness against AJ. Every time Joshua threw with conviction the shots landed flush, no matter if it was the straight right, left hook or uppercut. Ruiz has zero head movement and can’t/doesn't parry any shots. The only real defensive tool he showed was when he was slapping away some of AJs lazy/weak jabs.

I don’t know if that is what AJ is taking about.

Not sure I agree with that. He was slipping AJ's shots and countering plenty. The shot that wobbled AJ came from him avoiding a right uppercut and countering. Don't get me wrong, he wasn't boxing like Sweet Pea but considering he was on the front foot for most of the fight he was defensively fine

Anthony “do you know what I mean” Joshua. Full of philosophical shite! But Rematch will be close but I think Ruiz stops him again, he’s better on the inside better all round fighter, Ruiz in 8!

    Tyson surprisingly lenient on Saudi.

    Eyeing up a payday himself?

It was interesting listening to the recent interview with Robles. Obviously, he laughed off the lucky punch comment from AJ. I can see his point, Ruiz landed 39 power punches to Joshua’s head so not sure which one was the lucky one.

Anyway, they’re looking to try to make Ruiz a little bit lighter, and more leaner for the rematch. Not sure how I feel about that. Part of Ruiz’s durability & power came from having that extra stone of timber on him from the Dimitrenko fight. However, it will make him a little more mobile & faster. Robles knows best but i’d want him to come in the same. If Joshua is a bit lighter, he can bully him round more in the pocket.

If a huge Mexican lands 39 power punches to your head and you finish the fight on your fight does that mean you have a glass chin or more that your defence isn't up to much?

It means AJ has no real idea how to box....

He admitted as much between rounds

But no glass chin? We've see him compared to Price, who was put flat on his back by a shot on the chin from an even more out of shape and less skilled and powerful HW. It's a bit ridiculous really, AJ hasn't got a glass chin, he's just lacking in certain areas of his game, which isn't surprising given how late he started boxing.

He’s no idea against that style. He knows how to knock an opponent’s head on to row Z when they’re bigger, taller with slower feet but not when they’re smaller, more mobile and they’re walking him down. This next fight is going to be a shoot out. Can’t wait!

AJ has David Price syndrome, which is still a mystery, any time he his hit with even a mediocre power punch.

His reaction is exactly the same - all energy, motivation and heart leaves the body. The only thing that saved him v Klit was a negative old Klit.

Frank Bruno never went down but he appeared paralysed from the waist up when hit.

No Glass Chin but he will suffer a brutal KO v Wilder when the David Price syndrome arrives during the fight.

Apparently, your brain needs 20% of your bodies oxygen to function normally. When a fighter gets buzzed from a hard punch to the head, more oxygen (via blood) is needed by the brain to regain normal function. That naturally means that your muscles are temporarily denied their normal supply of oxygen (the brain is prioritised) hence why the fighter will suddenly feel fatigued. If you’re carrying a significant amount of muscle/size this will only be worse and your energy levels will be significantly more reduced than a fat pudding would be.

I only have a BTEC in science (from a Kellogg’s box) so if anyone can clarify the above, i’d be made up.

Interesting - never thought about the science of getting wobbled. Makes a lot of sense.
